@@MikeDCWeld Wasn't it mentioned at least a couple of times that Jim was Dwight's immediate superior? Dwight even concurred with that. I think Jim has a better work ethic than we're led to believe, it's just that the camera crew highlights the pranks and slacking off for comedic effect. I think it's similar to how Jake Peralta is a man-child who doesn't take things very seriously while simultaneously having the best record in the precinct.
