It is the corporate machine that took over country in the 80s. They want to formulaicly prescribe what sounds just this way or that and that is what we get. An original comes along and they dismiss them. They did the same with Chris Stapleton. Tell me he is out of a mold? He does his own thing and God Bless him for it.

The song is what you people should focus on but so many are commenting on the video . The video seems appropriate to me. After my divorce when I was depressed it helped me to walk on the beach, just walk. So what did you expect him to do with song? Tap dance wearing a tutu with clowns jumping through hoops of fire in the background? The whole meaning here is somber, not theatrical. Nobody's been there? I have.

Dwight,. You rocked on Sling blade. You were the no one star in that movie. It o be an honor to meet you.

Its much more meaningful when a singer writes their own songs. His eyes and voice say it all.

Except Dwight did not write this specific song.

Dwight got me through my divorce. I don't know what would have happened without his songs to cling to.

Any guy that's dated a no-good woman knows the feeling that this song talks about all too well.

Yeah, did you see the story today about a woman shot dead outside her office due to telling a coworker she wasn't interested. It's too dangerous to be around men these days.

Dwight does show his classic emotions through this song, He has the most beautiful Voices around. I love it,

I swear this song was written for me. When my ex almost draws me back in I start playing this song on repeat until I come to my senses.

I"m guessing Dwight and Sharon Stone haven't exchanged Christmas cards since this song. Best Dwight Yoakam song ever in my book too.

Whoa! I had no idea this was about her. Sadly, I can't say I'm surprised she was like that.

Pj2457 had no idea either. Always suspected she was a stone cold bitch IRL.

I saw her on a talk show once and she was asked about Dwight - she said she would rather eat a dirt sandwich than go with him again. What a moron! Everyone has their quirks and habits - she certainly has shown the world some of hers. According to this song Dwight saw all he wanted to see of her and had all he wanted to do with her. Way to go Dwight, life is too short to mess with a crazy woman.

ya'll do know that Dwight had 3 really serious relationships, other than s.s. He did not write these songs all about her....she was not important enuff to him for that. He was in real love b4 he ever knew her. She was nothing but a 6 wk., fling. He dumped her.

As a young man I enjoyed that Ain't that lonely yet part... As I've aged the "Once there was this spider in my bed I got caught up in her web of love and lies" man good lines here and just after. Never to let go...
