I actually like the new stuff I just don't believe it's in the "country genre". Tim Mcgraw and Blake Shelton for example used to make great songs, still do just more along the lines of pop music. If you are a fan of folk ballads, or soul ballads, or pop ballads, then listen up. This is easily one of the best ballads of the last 30 years. Yes, the guitars whine, and moan, and Kix sounds as if he really is riding a horse while singing the refrain, but, honestly, if this track don't make you feel something, then you might be dead. Just listen to the way straight up blues guitar licks are inserted here, and there, grabbing you, and letting go gently. Sublime, truly! I can hear so many echos, of hee-haw, and other wonderful american music, that I knew in younger days. Music, when it is done like this, touches your soul.

I have to say I was very impressed with Kix Brooks singing on this. He's no Ronnie Dunn but maybe he should've sang more of their songs? Then again I can't think of many people that can hold a candle to Ronnie Dunn's voice...he's the absolute best !!!
