I hope this series got an Emmy, because it is about 5 times better than any other police drama.

I saw this back in 68'... when I was just 10 years old... wonderful tv shows & episodes like these made a difference with me, growing up in NYC. Today's contemporary programs leave much to be desired.

You see Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith Show. Why won't they show any of the old episodes of N.Y.P.D. series?

Great series. I remember it from when I was a kid. My only criticism is the opening titles and the music. It made New York City seem like such a crime-ridden undesirable place.

A great show. Raw and gritty. The cop shows by Wolf look phony and Hollywoodized by comparison.
