@Dwight Yoakam🎵 Mr Yoakum, you are the king of country-rock. (Undisputed king). Another album of 1990s style country rock would be awesome. A whole new generation of fans need to know who you are! You made Suspicious Minds better! Your ballads are even some of the best! Sure would be nice to hear another Guitars and Cadillacs. Thanks (I am listening to the new stuff, looking for "it"). Thanks
@socorrohinojosa63873 жыл бұрын
In the songs he writes, IMHO, it's the phrasing that sets him apart from other songwriters. In his interpretations, IMHO, he is emotive and changes his "mood" to fit the song. A truly unique artist.

My #1 man yesterday, today and for always. This is one of my favorite DY songs out of the hundreds he's blessed us with. There are many days that I listen to DY literally 24 hours (with the headphones on while I sleep). Dwight (and his band) are totally gifted/talented/awesome and life is good. I first discovered him with the Thousand Miles From Nowhere video, and I IMMEDIATELY left 40 years of rock/pop behind, and have been a country fan (1985 thru 2000s) ever since. We are all so blessed in this life, and Dwight is living proof! Enjoy life.

My (3) all-time favorite country artists are: Dwight Yocham ties with Joe Diffie, and Patty Loveless!! Just the same as you, I listened only to the 70's music, and classic rock, then absolutely nothing else was worth listening to come 1990's!! I was depressed and seriously stuck, now what was I gonna listen to 😵?? One day I heard this music playing next door, I went out into my front porch and thought wow I wonder who that artist is with that incredible voice? So, I walked myself next door, stood at the front door and knocked! When my neighbor answered, I just ask him who was the person singing just now on your radio? He looked at me kinda funny, and said, why? Was it to loud, or bothering you? I smiled and said, no not in the least, the singer has a different kinda style and sings very well, can you tell me who he is? The man said he had just picked up this new guys disc because he was told that he would really like his sound. And the man said, I do not like country music first of all, but when I heard this guy, I was more than impressed. His name is DY, and his entire album is excellent, I guess there are a lot of new artists coming out right now, so off I happily went, and down to the record shop I went, and picked up DY new album and have never regretted it!

Oh boy. The memories. The first time I ever heard him on the jukebox (20+ ago) I was hooked. I didn't need to see him on MTV but, well, I was glad I did. He created the "sexy" look. That hat tipped just right, showing only them beautiful blue eyes and oh those tight jeans with that original worn/torn look . MMMMM. Many followed his sex appeal look but not many pulled it off quite the way this man did. His ability to stay true to his bluegrass roots, old style country (George, Johnny, Ricky etc...) is just another example of a true blue country artist....He will always remain in my top 5 (newest artists of my generation).

I used to think love was The soft rope meant to tie me down And all that could ever own me Was a guitar and another town Ten years can disappear real fast When every morning just leaves somewhere else behind But I've been thinking about leaving Long enough to change my mind Lyin' here beside you I can feel it start to pull me away The thought I'll have again tomorrow That just came back from yesterday But your embrace makes any reason For those memories hard to find And I've been thinking about leaving Long enough to change my mind Sometimes I miss the warm, bright lights Sometimes I miss the crowds Sometimes I miss the women I wrapped each song around Sometimes I miss that world out there So empty, hard and unkind But I've been thinking about leaving Long enough to change my mind Sometimes I miss the warm, bright lights Sometimes I miss the noise Sometimes I miss the fading sounds Of every cheering voice Sometimes I miss that world out there So empty, hard and unkind But I've been thinking about leaving Long enough to change my mind I've been thinking about leaving Long enough to change my mind
