When i was 10....some 54 years ago. I dreamed of being in the vienna boys chior. I loved music and had a soprano voice. Those boys dont know how lucky they are. They will cherish this time of their lives until it ends.

We just heard the Vienna Boys Club singing at Tarrytown Music Hall in Westchester County, New York, and there were about 25 boys singing with the pianist and the second half was Christmas in Vienna. Bravo to the boys!

Got to see them once singing and another time at Medieval Times in LA. I will treasure it always! Love boys choirs and hope they uphold the tradition of boys only!

Must be strange to be so young and to have such talent and such a voice and then lose it while still so young. Must be strange to grow up and then look back and really wonder who you were and wonder why the voice had to go so soon. They are so young and do not yet realize what a gift they are to the world. May God bless and keep them and may the choir go on generation after generation.

I didn't there were Malaysian boys who actually made it into the choir! 0.0 I'm so proud and impressed! Its cool how they're all from different cultures and countries, but are all united but this one desire to sing...

In the meantime a lot of foreign boys - also from Asia - China, Japan, Taiwan, Southkorea - for example - are members in the VBC. The VBC has four (!) concert choirs and does need again and again new boys with stunning singing voices.

One important tradition of the Vienna Boys Choir is that when they go on tour and visit a particular country, the management invite a boy singer from that country to join them. That's why at present even Japanese and Korean boys have joined the Choir.

I did not know this, I visited Monserrat in Barcelona, hearing that choir...I was told that the boys are acquired at 6 or so and then dumped out at 12 to 14 when their voices change,,

+12boocat The Escolania de Montserrat is also world-wide known. I myself as a fan of the Toelzers (see my channel please) do also like the Catalans very much...:)))

Remember Vienna Boys come to Sri Lanka When I was really small. Children who were in this group back then should be in their twenties now.

Locals do not attend this Mass because of the cost, about 50 euro. I suppose a lot of people have to be paid musicians, heating costs and staff. However if I am in Vienna on a Sunday I would not miss it

Where are you living ? The VBC (Haydnchor) for example will give concerts in December in Deutschland. Add to this: Ask Google for Wiener Sängerknaben. They have of course an own website...:)

Er komt een moment voor dat ik de aarde verlaten zal, een gigantische feest zal geven met als daggasten uiteraard Die Wiener Sängerknaben uit Wenen. (met hun vrienden en familie die dat willen zijn kosteloos welkom, voor alles wordt gezorgt - Hotel met alles erop en eraan.) een bezetting van minimaal 25 zangers uit het koor. En mogen zingen wat ze willen. Met wel een 1/2 uur mijn favorieten frollijke, meezingers enz... Een CD gaat erop volgen. Een dag later is het zover. Ook ik zal geschiedenis schrijven. Dit alles gaat gebeuren, kosten wat het kosten zal. 2 jaar geen belastingen betalen aan de partij der vernietiging Rutten en Co. Geen gezeik allemaal weer rijk. Als Rutten knulletjes en Co opgerot zijn wordt NL weer het rijkste land van de wereld. Dus stemmen. Hint::: Wilders met zijn eerlijke strijders. Een ding is zeker. Alles wat Hij zegt hoeft je niet mee eens te zijn, ieder zijn keuze. Maar een leugenaar is ie niet NOOIT niet. En dat kan je van de meeste daar in Den Haag niet zeggen. Hé Rutten!! gevallen!! Binnenkort gaat hij vallen in zijn eigen sprookjesboek die vol staan met hele grote leugens sinds Rutten geval de macht wist te grijpen door sprookjes ofwel leugens te verspreiden. +Wilhelm Tauber It´s well-known that the VBC since many years no more has enough young talent in Austria. The reason is that more and more Austrian parents prefer to educate their children themselves. For the members of the choir exists the obligation to live in the boarding home "Augartenpalais". By the way: The Tölzer Knabenchor in Munich (see my channel please) without a boarding home year after year has about 60 -70 new members...:)))

Times have changed. When families were poor 300 years ago, they sent their kids to one of the many choirs so they wouldn't have to feed them. Nowadays parents have money and they want to keep their kids to themselves. Also it is hard to find good singers, so they must look all over the world, and since they perform all over the world, why not have multi-cultural choir members? It works for the times I suppose.

Go to the center of Austria, which is Vienna, and then go to the center of Vienna. You'll find a 500-acre park in the center of the country. That's the VBC

So have all fans of boys choirs their own favorites. We all know that a lot of talented boys year after year in all boys choirs are new because again and again the boys have to leave the choirs becoming about 14yo. So the quality of the choirs is changing again and again. Nobody can say that that or that choir is the best ! We have a lot of world famous boys choirs. I myself do like all.
