It’s like they’re profiting off our struggles. And what about the NRC and CAA drama? India’s labeling people as “Bangladeshis” and threatening to dump them here, adding unnecessary tension. Even their energy projects, like the Rampal Power Plant, seem more about benefiting Indian companies than actually helping us. India also dominates regional politics, pushes its culture into our media, and charges next to nothing for transiting their goods through Bangladesh while we barely benefit. When COVID hit, their tourism-related foreign exchange inflow came to a standstill. They were already buried under billions of dollars of debt to China and had defaulted on several installments. So, they couldn’t turn to China for a bailout. India stepped in to rescue Sri Lanka because it’s a smaller country and easier to manage. Bangladesh is a completely different story. Bangladesh will never go to India for a bailout. If we ever need financial assistance, we’ll approach the IMF, ADB, World Bank, or even China-not India. India simply doesn’t have the capacity to sustain a country of this size. And let’s talk about how Indian media portrays Bangladesh, painting a completely wrong image of this country to the common Indian. They’ll say India is “sending” rice, potatoes, etc. Wrong!
