Being accused of terrorism, Iranian-German activist Jamshid Sharmahd has been sentenced to death in Iran. Germany is expelling two Iranian diplomats to protest the conviction. DW speaks to Gazelle Sharmahd who is not allowed to talk to her father anymore.

Iran has shown itself to be a terrorist state on multiple occasions and ways. It has executed regular citizens and protesters alike. This kidnapping is reminiscent of the arrests of activist Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega when Belarus forced their commercial aircraft to land. At the very least, this proves that there are places in this World that one should not go to, travel through, or go near. I am sorry to say this, but Gazelle is likely never going to see her father again.
