until puberty hits in and only kids around are his siblings, then the problem starts and most such families eventualy or send kids to attend schools in mainland to fiish last 4 or last 2 classes of elemntary school, but when they start highschool they either go to mainland or have virtual school, wich again is not a solution, coz kid needs other kids not related to them. that is huge problem in croatian islands (smaller ones), remote places for last 50 years. and majority of kids eventualy leaves and never comes back to live there. when kids are small and healthy it is easy, once the puberty starts the problem starts, coz kid need to socialise and have friends outside family circel, wich is hard if a child is only child on whole island of that age.. when winters comes, faries dont sail, especialy if weather is bad, helicopters cant fly and if child is injured or have health issues it is very unpleasant place to live. my partner is from one of croatian islands, once he left, he never returned except for summer vacations, coz life on island is harsh and can be lonely and isolating if everyone around you are twice of your own age or much younger than you, or all people around your age are your own family...

Having kids is a very personal choice and young people should not be pressured into it
@SyedWadud-j2cАй бұрын
@@phanders6236 It`s not pressure. Getting kids makes a man/woman happy. A man/woman can have 1,2,3 or even more kids by his choice. If he/she want few kids or many kids. They have their own decision but at least a person should get kids in his/her lifetime.
@frozencrow8735Ай бұрын
@SyedWadud-j2c and that's exactly what people mean when they say people pressure others to have kids. Some aren't good parents, some don't like kids, some aren't in situation where having kids is possible, currently I don't want kids since I know I will get way too annoyed and frustrated because of them that it will ruin my relationship with everyone around me. Maybe I will have them later. Maybe I don't but what I am sure about is I don't want anyone around me try to pressure me to have kids when I know I am not ready to have them especially if that person is someone close to me. Pressuring someone to have kids can and will ruin relationship with that person. Ps. Pressuring doesn't have to be aggressive Pressuring, it can also be passive too where someone keeps mentioning "everyone should have kids" etc constantly or every now and then. Good example can be grandparents or parents asking "when are you having kids" everytime they meet you even though you always tell them that you aren't planning to have them.

I just spent 6 weeks in Croatia, first time years that I've been there. The people are warm, hardworking, friendly, and healthy- both mentally and physically. They interact, I didn't see people looking at their cell phones, I saw them walking, talking, being social. I did not see an obesity epidemic there amongst the kids. This is a fantastic thing, perhaps more families will move there now?

Oh, and ajvar, ćevapčići, fried calamari with a potent draft beer, eaten with the sea right before us... I often wish I could have just stayed there for good.

We would walk up to the Jadran fountain piazza. The burek hut was near there...yum yum. I can see there are MANY more cafés and restaurants now. I think we had our wonderful suppers near where there is now the Buffet Marittimo. We drove around the island, walked around a lot and took in the beautiful sun and nature...
