@@affordableliving2756 Trying to adopt as a single man is basically impossible. We don't have support groups like couples do, whether they be straight or gay. I don't understand the meaning of "artificial life". Is it life or not? I would consider "trust fund" babies "artificial life" in the same way that "cubicle monkeys" could be considered "artificial life", and I could certainly go on and on about my own perspective. But in the sense of scientific definition, what is the meaning of "artificial life". Is it life or not?
@Trahloc Жыл бұрын
When the whole process is engineered by humans is where the "artificial" part comes from. It's like some artificial flavors. Chemically it might be the exact same molecule as the original, but it was created using genetically modified yeast/bacteria or possibly from a purely synthetic chemical process. The end result might be too pure compared to a natural one, for example artificial diamonds vs natural ones, because the human process is too refined.

@@brandex2011 Sure, but it has the qualifier. A synthetic diamond is still a diamond. Artificially engineered life is still life. @@brandex2011 A friend of mine existed purely due to animal research that saved his father. Actual sentient rabbits were tested on, and his high probability of death turned into a cure due to their sacrifice. His dad always had a soft spot for rabbits in appreciation for their sacrifice. Even the most pacifistic religions on the planet don't consider it a violation to scratch themselves or pick their noses which also results in the death of adult cells.
