Great job. Many people don't relieve the back of the casings to make room for the window flange. You are doing it the right way. Your videos are very entertaining, Thank You. Vinny

really appreciate you taking the time to shoot and edit these videos! I like how you display what you are doing in a separate frame at 2X speed while you are talking about what you will be doing. I have not seen any other diy vid makers doing that and it really helps move the video along without getting boring. Thanks

hand planer.. i use belt sander with #40 grit to do the same thing. i like sander better because, for me, the tool has more alternative uses than a planer

Belt sanders are definitely a great tool and i burnt mine up a few month back, i have been looking for a better replacement, for a while. the planner is really good at removing a very even amount of material over a long area, that is y i have started using it more and more. Check out the below link to a much better video on how on y i like to us the planer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ3IqWCrqr-hi5Y

Trying to find the "pre-cut" light blocks and not having much luck. Can you be more specific about these, please? Thanks!

The only place that I have found that carry them in stock is ProBuild, they are a more of a contractor based hardware store but they will sell to the general public.

Belt sander would've leveled that out easily.

My neighbor Hans Von Trusder, not only watches your videos, takes copious notes, but he has colored his hair, grown a goatee beard, and occasionally calls himself "Dan".

Hey Daniel what kind of wood are you using for the trim? Looks like just rough cut pine.. Are regular 1x4's and 2x4's good for trim?
@DanielWoodell7 жыл бұрын
So yes you can just use 2X4’s I have a rental house and it has 2X4’s as the corner trim peace’s. As for the type of wood, I could not tell you what type of wood it is, when I ordered it, it was called white wood, but that is because it comes pre primed. It is ordered out as 5/4 by whatever width you want. It sounds funny but for example it would be ordered as “five quarter by four by ten foot” I like the way that this stuff looks but it is more expensive. Hope that helps..
