Inflation would be 43.1%, so it would come down to 2.146 Euros. Which would mean my father drove a car for 15 years and it only cost him 646 Euros, 43 Euros a year. I'm a big fan of Volkswagen, I've been in that car since I was born. As soon as I was born, they put me in a Golf 2 and I spent a year of my life in that car while it was. My father that car was sold to my aunt in 2005, from 2005 to 2015 I grew up in a Golf 4 SDI 1999 with which I spent everything passed, learned to drive and the first car I drove. At the same time, I grew up in the Golf 2 in which I started my life, and in the Golf 5 TDI Edition from 2010, which was with my uncle at Taxi until 2018, where a cousin (son of the uncle) inherited that Golf. That Golf now has 760,000 kilometers and does not give up, suffering from 200 horsepower. In 2015, we owned a Skoda Octavia A5 4x4, it didn't let us down, we toured Europe with it, after that we had a Passat B6, also a nice car and never had any problems, and that's where I became an even bigger fan. In 2020, I thought my world was collapsing. My father sold the Passat, I had a lot of problems at home and my father bought a Toyota. I couldn't get used to that car at all, I wasn't satisfied with that car and I don't feel the same in other cars as I do in Volkswagen. At the time, I thought I wouldn't last any longer, but some problems are being solved. At the end of 2020, I met a man who is my best friend today because he is a Volkswagen fan and where VW brought us together, that man turned my life around, but all because of VW. A few months later, I realized my boyhood dream of driving a Golf 5 R32. After that, the Toyota started breaking down, we sold it and bought a VW Golf Mk7 with a panoramic roof. The Golf 7 has 330,000 kilometers and it doesn't give up, with that car I traveled to the VW meet in Imotski, I went to weddings, I traveled to my best friend in Slavonski Brod and had a nice drive, this year I fulfilled two more boyhood dreams that I went for a ride in Golf 5 GT Sport TDI R line with almost full equipment and that cousin took me for a ride in his Golf 5 GTI Edition 30, I've seen and driven a lot of VWs in my life and I can never get bored. I passed the driver's license for a car on a Golf 8, and a driver's license for a van on a VW LT46. I even worked at an authorized VW workshop. At home, I collect VW parts and VW jackets, t-shirts, pendants and the like... Simply, once a Volkswagen always a Volkswagen. Of course, I also have my page @best_of_volkswagen where I publish Volkswagens, I have met many VW fans through pages and VW Meets. Volkswagen forever 💙💙

The Golf also represents the cultural divide between the northeastern Serb Republic state and the southwestern Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Things used to be the same here up north but I rarely see any old Golfs now, all replaced by Audis and newer VWs. That sounds like progress but trust me it's just corruption, poor people who used to drive old cars now drive nothing. Looking at how much weight I lost over the years speaks for itself haha. It's a poor fake attempt at modernization. Even the much more developed Croatia has more Golfs than we do. I've always said if you want to see what Bosnia is becoming go up north but if you want to see what it was go down south, that is the true Bosnia. They're broke too but they don't try to hide it. Keep driving these Golfs with pride braćo moja!

The Golf is highly appreciated here in South Africa. The Golf is a legend here. But with the newer Golfs getting more and more expensive 😢 it’s starting to lose it’s popularity amongst the youth.

Funny how smaller less expensive vehicles usually build a huge following so long as it's small and plain and runs great.

I am an Indian but if I was a Bosnian I would buy an old VW Jetta or a old Skoda octavia to stand out of the crowd yet be related to the crazy fans 😜 . Here in India VW is a premium brand which makes solid cars but they are high maintenance literally because the service centres just don't fix the car , they just replace the entire part assembly on the pretext of damage preventive maintenance and whatnot plus the parts are expensive despite being made in India. VW skoda is a brand which gives us 75% of driving pleasure that a Audi,BMW or Mercedes Benz would provide at a fraction of its cost. That's why I love it even if I can't afford to buy it.
