I think doctors and surgeons will be the first of the highly trained workforce to be replaced by robots and restricted AI, just imagine a system that can read all bioscans simultaneously (from blood pressure, to hormonal concentration or even mood) and have a custom analisys of your body functions. This will be the next big revolution that will make our life expectancy grow beyond the 120 years, after that I figure that is 3d organ printing, genetic enhancements and micro/nano robot body function regulators and that means virtual imortality.

Robots an AI have a great place in our world today, but in my opinion there are things that could go wrong. Two things I'm worried about is something that doctors take an oath to obey and that is beneficence and non-maleficence. The first in in regards to doing good to the community and patient and the second is doing no harm. While many doctors break these oaths everyday due to any number of things, I think a robot, who lacks human capacity, is certain to break these as well. For instance, if a physcian is in surgery and they realize that the patient has an anatomical anomaly they may change the way they do the surgery or not complete the surgery due to the inherent risk of some of these anomalies. This is a good example of non-maleficence and its hard for me to see an AI acknowledging that "choosing" to change the surgery or not do it at all. In terms of beneficence, there is one thing that sticks out in my mind when looking at physicians and AIs and that is the ability to be human. Something as simple as being there for patients and families can do so much good. The simplicity of human touch in the face of crisis can bring much more good into the world than most realize. I do see a huge place for AIs in medicine and surgery but to only use AIs is a dangerous trap that we are moving towards.
