I'll Post the question on dwsim.fossee.in/forum the unhanded execution (error) happens when you use the mouse to select a spread sheet cell before pressing enter while editing another cell. I purposely did such in the tutorial to show that it is a non-critical error message and can be ignored.

Please Note: The Peng-Robinson EOS is not the best thermodynamic model for modeling water and ethanol, the PR model was used to illustrate that point. Exactly why and which model should be used will be explained in the next tutorial.

When I follow the step at time 11:02 in the spreadsheet I get the error: " ERROR: the given key was not present in the dictionary." I double check my Master property table in and confirm that I have selected and can see the Mass flow. Furthermore, it also does not work when i request other properties from the spreadsheet eg .."temp, pressure"

Hi Jeremy, great work on the tutorial. I work in the grain whisky industry and I'm looking to build a simulation of the process taking into consideration the granular/particulate physical composition of the feed stock to the distillation column; can I represent this physical composition in DWSIM and how do I do it. Thanks

Sorry for the delayed response, in general process simulators don't handle solids in liquid streams at all. that being said if seen some workarounds. I'd have to know more about your setup.

Hi great tutorial! When I open the "Configure Simulation", the database DWSIM will not be shown. I can only see the database from Chemsep, Coolprop, Electrolytes and Biodiesel. Can you help me? Thanks

You may need to download the DWSIM chemical properties set and direct DWSIM to the correct folder. Try the forum if that doesn't work.

I have an anomaly in my solution for volumetric flowrate. The mixture density shows up as 1.42 g/cm3 in the mixer outlet but that's impossible. I'm running version 4.2 using mono on arch linux. Could there be an error in the property tables?

Heads up: Use NRTL or UNIQUAC that will give the appropriate solution.
