Great tips. Lots of perch, but not all of them, love the shallower weeds this time of year on the lakes I fish. Yup, 2 to 3 feet of water or less sometimes!
@thunderdownunderfishing63783 жыл бұрын
Yep! Couple of my favorite fall perch spots gin clear water, less than 5 foot around the isolated weeds. Kill em!

I have been experimenting with the slip bobber and different types of jigs. Having good luck with the darker color fly tied jigs with minnow or half a nightcrawler. Thanks for the tips. I just picked up some ice fishing equipment I can't wait to use it with some new tips from your cannel...

Awesome advice, I think perch are one of the most aggressive and easiest fish to catch IMO. So fun and like u said u gotta go where the big ones are, but a minnow on a bobber never fails! Also true about them schooling up, always bring a marker float and anchor up when I start hammering them! Gonna have to go catch some now lol

I've been trying for 10 days to catch a perch and they just won't bite. I've tried everything except live baitfish. In fall they're definitely not the easiest.

Just get some 14-20lb fire line or 20lb fly line backing and make an 8 turn uni knot on your line or do it on a cocktail straw, that’s exactly what a store bought bobber stop is, they use less wraps but I prefer about 8 wraps for better grip on your main line. If you’re using braid as you’re main line you can use some 8-14lb mono as the material to make your bobber stop out of and it grips well on braid.

Have you ever tried the VMC spinshot hook? Personal favorite of mine for drop shot rigging. I use it all the time for perch and crappie rigged above a jig for a two hook combo.
