My city s waters usually have chub tench perch and trout which is nice, however for the past 2 years theyve been overfished and the population of those fish has been reduced significantly. I used to go fishing 2 years ago with my dad and would catch perch often with a float rig and worms/maggots attached to a hook nowadays u can barely catch anything, people used to catch 3-4 fish and take them home with 0 regard for the population of those fish. I will try some of the methods u listed and i will see if any of them are effective at catching some perc, thanks you.

Fishing for perch is super popular in NYS Finger Lakes area , thousands of people fish for perch and typically eat them too . Perch in America do not get as large as the perch in the UK & Europe but look very similar .

When I make a wire trace I pass the wire through the cripm, then put the tagg end down in the crimp again. That way it won't ever be pulled out.

I am located close to a pond in Toronto, Canada that's full of perch, but they are rarely caught with the methods that are commonly used around here. I will have to adjust to the overall smaller size of North American perch, but think that these methods will help. Now if only bait shops here would carry maggots!

High, I know this was 4 years ago and you've fished several venues both home and abroad. Have you ever fished in the South of France ? Le Lac du Bourget, in the Savioe region ?? My brother in law lived close by but unfortunately he has passed away. I did try fishing a couple of times but to no avail 😢. While in one of the shops saw a fishing magazine, cover picture 📸 was one of the biggest Perch I had ever seen. That was until I watched your holland ? Video and the monster perch along with pike and zander. Was just wondering if you had been that far down in france at all ??. Hope you don't mind me asking 🙂 Cheers Les.

or you use the Italians strategy float put a maggot on the smallest hook ever and use a rod that is literally just a big piece of metal with a line attached to the thinner end of it. Yes this is how Italians fish they also don’t kill the fish with a knife they let them suffocate in plastic bags… I’m traumatized also no weight at all

8lb mono or fluorocarbon mainline max or 6 - 12lb braid mainline max for casting distance and fall rate of your jig head and soft plastic . Also crush the barb of your jig head hook .
