Hi Tony and Martin, many thanks for another interesting and informative video. :-D Some constructive comments: 1. Not sure that a 2nd RX is essential for working split? However, I would love a 2nd RX for diversity RX e.g. polarisation diversity; I think most of the fading on upper HF and 6m is down to rotation of polarisation in the ionosphere.... Also great for monitoring one band while working DX on another, e.g. working on 10m while watching for 6m to open.... Another attraction to me is that the 7610 offers RF distortion-correction when used with a linear amp which offers that facility.... hopefully this is the way rigs&amps will go with increasing use of software defined radios...... (BTW I don't think the 7610 offers multi-band Eq on TX or RX?) Re the Steppir verticals: I'm not sure I understand that there is any advantage here; I would go for one or two fixed-length (switched) vertical radiators, on a non-conductive pole, and use a remote ATU at the base.... better performance for less cost? 73! If it is, then no one has told the factory. Frustratingly for Hams, PMR always takes priority at JVC-K, where they are one of the most prominent market leaders. Until the world resets after Covid, most manufacturing gets swallowed up by the commercial side of this Japanese giant. The reliability and quality of Kenwood's products are still hard to compete with, and we are very much looking forward to the end 2023 with the release of their first new Ham product since the TS-890S. 73 de G4HKS
