80's synth era was awesome. I was particularly obsessed with the 80's in early 2000s when i was like 13, 14 years old, because at that time, I just started discovering that era of music . Of course, I knew many of 80's classics already, but was much more familiar with the 90's, considering that I was born in '87. Remember watching all the time popular Serbian tv station that played a lot 80's and 90's music videos along with stuff that was popular/mainstream at the time. Good times. These days music is, sadly, less inspiring, everything is about shock value, singers with naked asses under the lame "pushing boundaries" excuse. Not to mention that everything is based on sampling old stuff, stealing, there is nothing fresh and exciting. It's just horrible. This cover of Self Control is amazing!❤

I just happened to find this video when searching for the history of classic synthesizers and their use in my favorite tracks of all time! I am researching & learning more about Synthesis and the hardware. I have the Software Plug-in versions & a DAW as I don’t have very much room or the budget for Hardware counterparts. I have the DX7-V plugin from Arturia (based on the classic DX-7 FM Synth) from back in the day. This sounds so much like the track from Laura Brannigan, I wonder if the app Shazzam would recognize it even 🤔… Great work!!
