He has so many songs and writes with such passion. This was sung at so many weddings. John Denver was a gift to the world. He sooths my soul. His beautiful voice and spirit were lost too soon.

John Denver was a fantastic singer and song writer. He had loads of great songs and sounded as good live as he did on the studio versions. He was a folk singer rather than country singer. He was also an environmentalist before most people knew what that was. He died far too young in an experimental plane that he was flying. R.I.P. John you are greatly missed.

I really love your reaction to a song I've been playing since 1974. In the Spring of 1974 I hitchhiked from South Boston Va. To Richmond Richmond VA to see John Denver. Best concert I've ever seen. The album was recorded in June of 1974.

When I was younger I didn't appreciate his music as much. The 80's came and I changed my tune on John.

John wrote this song while on a ski lift in Aspen, Colorado where he lived. Annie is the woman in the picture on the album cover and was also his wife. John was killed in an "easy glider" type of small air plane in 1997. He was a gifted singer, song writer, acted in some movies and sitcoms. He would fill in for Johnny Carson from time to time, had a few of his own Christmas shows and was a philanthropist and was often in Africa trying to save the children there. Annie is still alive.

I'm a older younger, my first record a 45 to a 8 year old sunshine on my shoulder, my little record player oooh I have all my 45' rocky Mt high I was 47 when I saw them, Annie's song your correct to his wife, we lost a great one too soon

John is my most favorite singer of all time! If you want to hear a similar soothing song like this "Sunshine on my Shoulders" is great. "Take me Home, Country Roads" and "Rocky Mountain High" along with "Annie's Song" are the top 3 hits he John wrote those 3 songs and many others (Sunshine also). Let me know if you want a bigger list! You can't go wrong with most John Denver songs! Annie was his 1st wife and wrote this song after an argument in a ski lift. John had the gift of songwriting!
