I’ve love Josh since HS! Ohhhhh take me back then were the jams!! Hint: most of us who live or have lived in Hawaii the good stuff is what’s on the radio and what we listen to. Matter of fact, many of the well-known artist of the 90s and today are people who knew locally. The islands aren’t big ha ha. Another example: one time, I brought home a track from a now, super famous female Hawaiian reggae artist; my friend who was a pretty popular DJ one of the two most popular radio stations in my area, overheard it in my car and the same day it was on the radio on repeat. He knew what was good though, because he was Polynesian himself. Everybody loves it! Only kind of music I’ve been around with everybody and participating and I love fighting and nonsense. The music is like laid-back, relaxed, and everybody’s just cool. The nicest people you will ever eat from all kinds of different backgrounds. But yes, as somebody who an 80s/90s baby I can’t listen to say music my grandpa listen! Oh no, no no no no.😂😂😂 only type of those I listen to is when we have church😊 When I am at home, in Maui; our time either on the beach or cruising, jamming out with bare feet in our swimsuits. I’ve never experienced a cold day. (not compared to even California standards)… actually lol; I have to remind myself to get out of the damn water when there’s thunder just in case lightning decides it wants to strike ha ha ha. But it’s warm as heck. You could take a bar of soap and go outside to shower. Matter of fact, in Tonga….😂😂😂😂😂 we make the boys do this all the time. They take a bar of soap outside when it rained, and after getting the concrete or rock soapy; they wash their feet lol! I don’t say any of this to make fun of the culture; it’s my culture! It’s just silly stuff we do but it’s not that serious. I’m just saying, if other people saw us doing it; they would think we were cuckoo nuts ha ha PS: except we’re definitely going through gentrification like he**!!! Lahaina fires, rich mainlanders buying up all the prime real estate (they’ve the only ones who live by the beach); that’s regular folk live on the inner island… and most of the islands are way more expensive than states like California. If you know anything about the US, California is crazy expensive. I’m talking over $1 million for a POS house or $10,000 a month for rent type expensive on top of being taxed like half your salary… making it pretty much impossible to do things unless you move inland…..(which is a pretty crappy life when all you do to spend your time on the road and working- exactly why a lot of people either believe or figure out they make much more of a profit if they can open their own business. That way, they can work wherever they live or from home and, it’s huge tax right off. There is no longer a quote middle class. It’s either super rich or super poor in places like Hawaii in California. (which is the state I live in during the winter bc my parents and daughter who’d in college are still there- and we/I don’t and won’t send our elders to retirement homes or hospitals… the kids take care of them at home. For my family, obviously it’s going to be me. Pretty much because I’ve always been the caretaker and is probably why I became a nurse practitioner. THEN, as long as I can afford it, I will go back to Maui permanently instead of just summer. Hope I gave you a good lesson? Love the content! Keep it up ❤
