To me, this is Salvador Dali meets Walt Disney meets Gorillaz. The video itself is old and drawn by disney, but this music by DyE fits it really well, and as I said, they've got a simillar sound as Gorillaz. It's smooth, dreamy and kind of melancholic

This is literally exactly what dreams look like. Things happen that make no sense, but it continues on anyways. Your imagination explodes in such a way you never thought would happen ever before. You see trippy things that happen so slow yet fast. Everything changes in front of you so quickly you can't even begin to comprehend what's going on, but it doesn't matter, because guess what? It's a dream. You just gotta let the story play out for itself. In the end, it turns into something quite beautiful.

These visuals were not created by the band. This was originally a collaboration between Salvador Dali and Walt Disney that unfortunately was never finished. The original music to this video is great, 10/10 would recommend.

This has happened twice now - I've dropped acid in a dream, then soon after I wake up and get visuals. They are actual outlined closed eye visuals, not just colours or pulsing/waving orbs. Not completely dissimilar from visuals from actual LSD, but less colourful and smaller. They're pretty minor, and not in all of my vision, more confined to a circle in the centre. But they're still visuals, and I'm definitely awake when experiencing them. Which is crazy. They last a few minutes and then fade away. I should note that I have done LSD a few times, and experienced these visuals a decently long time after tripping, so it's not after effects. Has anyone else experienced this? This just completely blows my mind.
@andrewhoffman29609 жыл бұрын
VenusVisuals Yes, I too have seen eyes as a projected 'hallucination,' though not because I had taken LSD. I was in bed, in those trance-like states just before/after sleep (hypnogogia) when I realized that these images emanated from a central point, as I thought this, an eye appeared. It remained, blinking, while other images swirled about it. I then became aware that its' placement was directly above the so called third-eye, and that this must be the experience which these people were describing. I have had experiences with the Jungian practice of imaginative play, so when the eyeball began 'speaking,' I was able to suspend my disbelief and I entered into a state which I can only describe as a wake-state-dream. If you have had, and are interested in these entirely natural but mind-blowing human experiences, if you haven't already... read up on Carl Gustav Jung. Also Andre Breton or Hugo Ball would likely be stimulating for you. Surreal translates to 'reality plus.' They believed, as William Blake did as well, that our culture had gone mad from in ability to see the world in our rational mode and our imaginative mode (the 'plus'). I hope you find this information helpful. And good luck in your dreams.

i get really strong auditory hallucinations, namely beautiful music... but i can never remember how it sounds.
@andrewhoffman29609 жыл бұрын
When you try to remember information do you say it aloud? If you don't remember how to spell a word, do you 'sound' it out? We have particular ways which we relate to our senses. If you have an auditory learning temperament it may explain the musical hallucinations. I have a more visual learning style, hence all the imagery, and probably the allusion to painters in my comments. Have you ever tried to induce trance-like states with music?
@loganbetts64689 жыл бұрын
I induce trance like states with music all the time, mostly with music i make myself, and I talk to myself constantly in order to remember anything. I'm probably going to take your advice on reading up on Carl Jung, it seems interesting.
@bradleypaquet72629 жыл бұрын
VenusVisuals It sounds like a flash back, some of the chemicals from LSD that got trapped in parts of your spinal chord. Maybe the way you sleep has released them. The experience of the drug probably reminds you of the feeling, and triggers a dream where you take the drug. You probably wouldn't notice you were high until after the dream.

This was beautiful... I think it refers back to our instinctual need for companionship, and our ability to see beauty almost in every place. The female is not comfortable with her external appearance, so she uses clothes to express herself. This explains why she was able to obtain a dress out of the shadow of something as simple as a bell. When she turns into a dandelion, that's her wanting to share her beauty with the world. The male character however feels the passage of time before him. He is afraid of aging, because he believes the woman he loves will not want him when he is old and gray. And through the horrifying twist of visuals, we see the two finally united, their love and companionship shaped by the area around them.

I really think people should open their eyes when watching this video before instantly assuming the creator (which I believe is Dali) was on drugs or had some form of mental disorder. If you actually spent time to watch the video a few times and listen to the song, it tells a beautiful story and I think the animation really fits with this song. Even DyE's other music video to Fantasy is good, it's just disregarded because it's extremely taboo and disturbing to viewers, but it carries a message with it and it makes people think - and the animation is actually really beautiful, the colours really fit the mood of the song, it's just the events that make people completely reject the whole idea of the video which is a shame. I love DyE's music, it makes me feel something that no other artists has made me feel before.

Kind of a weird story but I feel compelled to tell it. For a while after high school ended I was looking for new friends and connections. I wound up meeting this dude who was super strange. We just came from completely different background and had completely different life experiences. But I agree to meet up with him, and at 10 at night we drove around in his car and talked about life and how weird everything was. Later on he’d invite me to a party where I would met the love of my life. Even though I greatly appreciated him inviting me after The party we kinda just drifted away. Then one day out of no where he sends me this video with no context. I watch it and like it but I think nothing more of it. Cut to now, it’s 1 at night and I was thinking about that tentacle pool music video and when I look it up I’m surprised to see that that the people who made that song (fantasy) also made this one. There really isn’t a moral to this story or a lesson. I just thought it was strange how life kinda loops around like that.

It's a brilliant song to my standards, you'll may find this intresting to see aswell. It's the meaning behind the song: A story about a corrupt couple who feel ashamed of themselves and do not know how to fix their relationship. Ending up with it tumbling down and realizing they’re not meant for each other. The name “Hole In Ocean” is an odd name. But the “Hole” represents something that’s wrong with a relationship between two people (in the story written by DyE). And the “Ocean” represents the swift and beautiful relationship itself before everything broke down, hence the name “Hole In Ocean”. See the lyric annotations to understand the full story between the couple. ( I'll have to admit that I'm quite the poet in some cases though, I probally wouldnt even have commented if that wasnt the case haha )

I finally understood the final concept of the video. Kronos abdicated to be a Titan (God, I do not remember at the time) put fell in love with a woman. The one which in my view loves Kronos so great a form, that this love that both feel for each other forms a connection. Whose my interpretation made her feel the weight and the pain of him. Is the result of this shows the evolution of it in the video, becoming something like "mother nature," the human being as meat, something like, if you understand me? Kronos abdicated the weight of time by falling in love with a woman, the result of which was all the beauty that nature gives us today and "time" on its way to her. When it shows the coliseum, the walls separating the couple, represents all the bad things that this provided us humans. But then he shows the woman represented as a statue carved by the same men, proving that they are capable of doing beautiful things. I'm making this comment to read another time I'm not on palliative effects.

What I get from it is that it depicts our existence in its purest, the search for love ( 0:50 ), and how it always slips our grasp ( 0:55 ) because perfect love is nonexistent, our endless persuasion of beauty and aestheticism, the times when we are happy ( 1:16 ) and the times when we are sad and forlorn and just want to cuddle up into a hole ( 1:30 ), yet in the end, we are but remnants in a lonely, lifeless desert ( 5:14 ). Of course, I didn't read the description first to see if this was inspired by Dali, but all those clocks and melting and stuff kind of led me to believe that. Really cool that you paired this song with this clip though.

why do people think because they can't understand something it therefore is impossible that it makes any sense. I'm sick of this shit. It's art. Its going to be a little abstract at the very least. There is an overwhelming amount of symbolism in this not to mention the very title Hole in the Ocean and the mythological implications of that. You could practically write a paper on this song its so loaded ffs. Just because you're some concrete thinking hands on chump doesn't mean you get to rob art of its value. We all take something different from it, just take whatever you can and assume that the rest simply wasn't meant for you, at least not today sorta thing.

This was made (well, like, him and Walt Disney) by Salvador Dali who made surrealism so things don’t make sense but they do, this was originally about a woman trying to make sense of love and feelings from what I know, but it is also said to have so much other implications, it’s amazing.

how hilarious for like the course of like 1 year, I've been watching this music video, and last month I didn't realize, that the animation wasn't made for the song, and now I realize, that this channel isn't even the official DyE Musical channel. Marsvisual, Destino was a great film for this song, it took me a year to realize that this was a Fanmade edit.

Salvador Dali was amazing and nothing about art is weird, it's enlightenment, inspiration, perspective, he was special, educated and wise. Nothing weird about that, Respect.

the vid is very artistic, i loved that and the ballet dance moves in it its very beautiful i loved the romance parts and the ending was just sadly beautiful that throught the hole in his heart, it aimed perfectly for the bell (her). i liked it. :D
I remember I was OBSESSED with this video, specifically this one, several years ago. And no wonder, because this could well be the original music vid for this short film. It goes together with the vid so extremely well, even better than the original music does! This video is truly magical, but that isnt really even high praise for something made by two geniuses of visual arts. This is THE single best video to get high on acid to. Try it sometime, and write to me how it went, lol
