You can believe this or not.... you can break that rail with a sledge hammer! Cut through the flanges with a torch or whatever, then prop the end up on a flat laying 2x4, or something similar with rail flanges down and top up. Next strike directly above the cut with a sledge hammer... it will break completely through! I didn’t believe it until I tried it. I’ve heard that in the old days, they would score the rail entirely with a hammer and chisel, then hit it with a sledge hammer and it would break. That would be a good KZbin demonstration too. This is a good demo, however I’d like to know more about the saw being used and how long it took.

I destroyed my Evolution blade not long after buying the chop saw. I was a newbe to this type of saw. I had been using my Dewalt abrasive chop saw for over 15 years. I was cutting 1/4' plate and stood it on end and applied too much pressure. The blade caught and took about 8 teeth off the blade. I bought the Diablo because it was cheaper. It cuts just as good as the more expensive Evolution blade. I have been using it for over 2 years now with no problems.

I'm not sure but it would depend on the speed rating on the blade vs the saw. I tried something similar to that with a 7 1/4" abrasive chop saw and a 7 1/4" carbide metal cutting blade from tractor supply. The speed is to fast but it does work, albeit it's not perfect. I would love to try a Diablo blade and see if there is any difference.
