Tuff Stuff works beautifully for hand bags. It’s a foaming cleaner meant for car upholstery. Huge yellow aerosol can. Automotive department. Turned my black/brown stained Coach back to her original gold color. Looked like a whole 2 liter of Dr Pepper spilled on it. 😊

If you rinse thoroughly, you shouldn’t have any problems. You’re essentially permanently staining it so as long as the excess dye is removed, all should be well. 😊

Is the strap of your bag leather? I have a nylon bag with leather trim and i’m wondering if Rit dye will also color the leather and if the hot water didn’t ruin the leather. Thanks for any response.

Most likely because it’s a different material and didn’t take with the dye. This is my assumption but I’m not 100% sure!

The lettering is prob sewn in, and thread doesn’t take up the dye the same way as the nylon.
