Dyfi Race Track - a first full run down it

Of the numerous tracks at Dyfi Bike Park, this one stands out as my favourite. This is footage of my first run down it so a bit cautious in places but unfortunately, this is the only run where the footage was usable due to the incredible amount of water and mud on the lens on subsequent runs.

Yeah, on first sight you think “what is THAT?” but it’s not actually that bad. It’s lower Race Track that’s the most intimidating as it’s slick, mud covered rock, and steeper than it looks!

Race track is my favourite, Seems pretty straight forward on first viewing but just gets better as you go faster and start linking lines together. So you go faster and it opens up even more. So good.

Bloody fantastic track, although we only rode it twice (first visit so wanted to ride as much as possible there). I can see how it would get better and faster the more you know it though 👍

It’s one of, if not the best there (in my opinion, and Twelve & co’s). Definitely a few surprises, not really nasty but they warrant a look before giving them a go, especially on the lower section

You really should do mate; I told you to the other week but you got stuck on Super Swooper Replay again 😂 Yeah, that pipe; I came up to it and thought What the hell is this thing? Learning afterwards that Twelve, who is a lot more stunt rampy than me had come up short and wrecked his cranks (in a prior visit) vindicated me stopping for a look 😂

Thanks mate, not gutsy enough on this run though as I was riding it blind; excuses excuses 😂 Everyone should visit Dyfi, it’s like nowhere else. I was really impressed by how well set out and organised it all is too.

Good effort. I wish this place was just a bit closer to me so I could batter it. I feel as though, if I could get the hang of Dyfi I could ride anywhere.

Totally with you mate, if you could ride there regularly, your riding would come on in leaps and bounds. Mate of ours was average at best, decided to do a season out in Morzine and by the time we got out six weeks later, he was so much faster; regularly wins races now…

Honestly mate, Race Track is something else, just so damned good (and a bit scary in places, especially the bottom section).

Everyone should make the pilgrimage to Dyfi mate, it’s just something else. You’re right though, you need a modicum of fitness to get the best out of it as it really does beat you up. Cracks me up when XCers accuse DHers of being lazy 😂

Epic video Jason, shit you’re fearless and fit pal 👊 I managed to get 4K resolution on iMovie mate 🥳 I can only think I’d downloaded an older version of iMovie but no worries, I’ve had to switch off my screen saver as I’d downloaded about 20% and my iMac went onto screen saver and it stopped downloading, it’s doing it’s thing now 🤞it carries on until the end

Thanks buddy, it comes out today at 12.00, it’s called EASTERN MOORS FROM SHILLITO WOODS CARPARK, it’s pretty tame compared to yours but this was my first outing after my back surgery, that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it mate 😁😉

It’s so good there mate, leagues above every other bike park. There’s some crazy stuff there for sure but there’s also trails that most people would be fine with and enjoy.
