I only recently, in the last few months, started listening to these dudes. They are with out a doubt the most talented and overall the best Deathmetal band in existence today. These dudes are unbelievably technical without sacrificing the actual music. A lot of bands these days are driven purely on how technical they can be and it takes away from the song. These dudes are so technically advanced that it's almost as if they're not trying lol. John is sick! Sean is the greatest bassist to walk the earth (except maybe Tom Arya), and Trey is hands down the beat drummer in the world! Keep it up dudes!

@AlexLococo wat. dying fetus was one of the first deathcore bands, along with skinless and a few others, back in the nineties. the red chord and despised icon etc came around in the early 2000's to get lumped in as deathcore, which in turn modernized the sound of the genre (or rather bands that set out to be called deathcore), and then shit like jfac started popping up. jfac are perhaps responsible for bringing the watered down deathcore to the masses, but they did not by any means start it.

yeah thats probably why they are in the big four. Kerry is overated but who cares, not nearly as overated as slash or guitarists from other "pop-like" bands. Slayer is by far the most brutal thrash band, and they put out so many influential albums and won grammys for their work. Not to mention that unlike many bands, they stayed true to their thrash roots and death themes, not conforming to modern views like metallica did. you're right about lars and although kirk is slightly overated he is no mediocre guitarist hes fucking insane. His work in kill em all, and justice for all, and ride the lightening undisputedely made him a well renound guitarist. The musical legacy of Metallica is no joke, they put out many good albums and kickass riffs. (Given later albums were pretty shitty during their "sellout" phase) which is why i consider slayer the king of the thrash metal genre
