My mother's last words after a decades of painful illnesses were during one of the many resuscitations where her heart would stop and CPR would resume and it would come back. She would duck in and out of consciousness. The time before she fell asleep for good she sat up on that hospital bed and yelled at the doctor "what are you doing? Let me go home!" She was a converted Christian and our family attended church my whole life. I wouldn't go on to be regenerated for another 8 years after this. I thought at the time she was wanting to be discharged from the hospital. Looking back I know now exactly what home really meant to her.

My great grandfather usually went out to the courtyard after lunch and read his Bible in his armchair under the winter sun. One day he never got up from his chair. His children went up to see him. He had departed the world, his Bible was open on his lap and his finger was upon Matthew 11:26: “Even so Father: for so it seemed good in Thy sight.” We still have this verse etched on his gravestone. :)

His love for God shows in every teaching he’s ever done. It’s okay to be skeptical but watch him at conferences, in the pulpit and next to the chalkboard, he was passionate for the Holiness of God. He was a blessing to the church by a merciful God. Peace🙏

Is it worse to be incurably ill for many years, or to be witness and caregiver for someone you deeply love who will certainly die. Or even two people in your immediate family. I don't know the answer to that question and I'm not sure it even matters. I do know that personal longevity and any "willingness to fight" potentially lethal personal illness is not always tied to faith in the way we think. Perhaps some of us have endured the suffering of others at close proximity for decades and are very ready to go home. I hope, pray and believe God understands those types of situations.

I had to walk away for a moment... My concern since young adulthood was where did you go after death. I have seen quite a bit of it. The question still remains, so I had tried to tell family and friends about Jesus for that reason. I have been shamefully negligent about this of late. No more....

No one escapes death. When those who meet Jesus in the air are changed in the twinkling. of an eye, that is death and instantaneous resurrection. No one escapes death.. Those will simply not notice. They wont have to wait to be raised.. Radio/TV comedian Fred Allen went for his usual daily walk and had a fatal heart attack. His friend Jack Benny who spent years faking a fued with him was heart broken.

@@jacobforaker6222 tell me when we're transformed in the twinkling of an eye and in another place the scripture says Flesh and Blood shall not enter the kingdom of God oh, well what happens to the flesh, I'll tell you what happens to it , it dies , it is death for the flesh when we're transformed so they were right and you're not. There is also another scripture that says all flesh is like the grass of the field. What happens in grassy field? Need I say more?

@@donsimonds5186 again, no, Don. I recommend studying the topics you wish to discuss on social media so that you don’t look so silly. What is the Greek word used for transform? What does it mean? “Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air…” Notice the word ALIVE? “Listen, I will tell you a mystery! We will not all die, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.” Paul literally says WE WILL NOT ALL DIE. Tell me you don’t know the Word of God without telling me..

Aren't as members of the church responsible for knowing whether someone knows the Gospel so that we might share it if they don't? I mean, I am nor sure I can have a conversation with anyone without it always coming back to Jesus for me. I'm just saying, like could you imagine one of the Apostles even sitting down before finding out whether you knew Christ or not first? Are we not supposed to avoid sitting with mockers? (Psalm 1) nor is this any judgment on Mr. Sproule, here, nor should we assume they kept much company with another. I love R.C Sproule. He's probably one of Jesus' modern ministers of His Word!! Anyway...there are just many verses as well regarding the company you keep but most importantly is being able to talk about Jesus with anyone. If we are ashamed of him after all, why shouldn't he also be ashamed of us? For him to die on a cross for OUR sins and then we can't even mention him? Boy, I wouldn't want you in my kingdom either. Or if you only come over when you need something. So I'm trying to do a lot more like Jesus did. And I thank such great men of God who teach and preach the things of God with love and respect and honorably, morally, with judgment and even with humor , as these. I pray he is loving living with the Lord now.
