I believe dying light 2 has some moments, and while I wholeheartedly agree that the first is better. The thing is (at least in my opinion) Dying light 2 is a parkour game that has zombies, while dying light 1 is a zombie game that has parkour. So it kind of makes sense that the combat would be slightly lacking in comparison to the first game.

I feel the best change in 2 was to the grappling hook, I just wish you unlocked it instead of the paraglider. I think the issue with the combat is 1 was designed for fighting zombies, fighting people was broken and boring. 2 was about fighting people with in depth party and block and dodge systems but zombies were neglected (look at how infected can dodge shots that connect, clearly just using the systems for people)

So dying light 1 used real world physics and gravity, but it is doubled in game. You notice on DL2 you sorta float when you move and jump? They fixed the gravity to be 1:1. Cool fact

In dl2 you can choose between the physics release date and the new one, but still the new one feels also without gravity compared to dl1

When you hit the zombies it feels like they had weight they stumbled around more before they just fell over and died. Like real zombies. and you ran out of stamina quick making it even more realistic. You have super powers in dl2 game to chop it all up go play Dead Island I FUCKING LOVE BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF ZOMBIES WITH KNUCKLE DUSTERS I promise you it is like dying light 1 combat. Wayyy better than dl2 at least i haven't played in a coo minute but after you finished the game it's mad boring the maps are ass it's not 1 big map so yea It has downsides but it's really fun

It’s something that went over people’s head with Dead Island and that the physics on the zombies. Man, at the time I was blown away with how brutal it was. Never seen anything like it. So having it back in Dying Light 1 was a treat. Just wish they had it for Dead Island 2 with it’s gore and details. While Dead Island 2 is pretty awesome it did go for the animation style instead, which can make it feel repetitive at times. There isn’t really any funny moments of zombies falling in awkward ways or having a zombie fall and then killing it self on impact. It’s a shame. I think it’s basically gone over people’s heads. Like I mean the majority probably saw it as “jank” or whatever they call it when reality, you’ll end up a rag doll by getirng your bones broken and shit. Honestly Dead Island 1 and Dying Light 1 are much more brutal in terms of technicality then most realise.

I played the second one first. So i had my first experience with the dying light series. I fell in love with it and looked out for an copy of the first one which is not that easy to get in germany. So i played the first one maybe a year ago. I was still enjoying that game even his age as this game is around 9 years old. But it was still sooo good and intense. Dont know how i could missed it back then. I always thought its like these left for dead games only online gaming etc. Its also offers a great story and very good storytelling.

Dying Light 1 vs 2 is a perfect example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." They removed guns until a later update, made repairing weapons much harder, and made you have to hit right trigger and right bumper at the same time just to kick a zombie. Make ot make sense.

As someone that just started playing dying light 1 for the first time not to long ago, I gotta disagree with the whole "you can feel the impact" thing. I started playing on hard mode and every time I hit a zombie, and especially a person, all my hits feel like I'm putting my full force into a steel wall. Even when it finally knocks them down, it seems like it's powerful, but then they get back up and tank 10 more hits.

I just completed dying light 2 , and I actually can’t even force myself to like it. The story is boring and uneventful, the sidequests are repetitive, the combat is broken and boring, parkour is glitchy. And the entire game is filled with bugs. Such a terrible, terrible sequel.

No? I played it from 2015 and I don't remember the ragdoll being too different. Maybe they improved them on the Enhanced Edition in 2016 but they were never as bad as Dying Light 2's ragdoll.

See I love dying light one but I can’t stand standing there for 15 seconds smacking a zombie with a machete or longer on one zombie when I got 3 on me dying light 2 felt more realistic combat even tho it I love both games equally I believe I just can’t wait for the beast and hopefully has new game plus so I can lay the heck out of it
