I feel for the microtransactions, considering how terrible it is for Dying Light 2, with skipping progression by getting a gun for free or whatever. I feel they might bring it back for Dying Light The Beast, however, I beg they do it properly. For those who actually brought Dying Light Points, hopefully it transfers to Dying Light The Beast, but purely cosmetic, skins for whatever and not a way to get cheap weapons so you don't have to work for it.

No, they went from "techland jank" to "techland jank but mainstream so everyone super critical can see the flaws now". Their games have always had major flaws with some great aspects to balance out, that is sort of their charm. Case in point is DL1's flat and mediocre movement system and outright trash story balanced by fun combat.

​@@fimurr I don't really think it's sweats I just got back into the game so I wasn't even a very good player and I beat the tower my first try I think it really does depend on your team and how you chose to build the character it was 3 scarecrows and 1 crossbow guy I didn't go down but once and afterwards I fully upgraded my perk tree to make it where I Regen health back to 80% so the scarecrow takes 45% less damage and he heals to 80% I can basically solo the tower into i hit volatiles. and it's not because I'm sweaty..

I loved the horizontal movement of dl1 and the parkour moves on dl2 that offers alot of verticality. If they take the best of both worlds and improve on it. The Beast could be their best DL game if done right.

Yet I never see DL1 get the same treatment even tho it deserve it just as much (sometimes even more) for the same flaws. Techland micro transaction behaviour stemmed from DL1. Yet we didn't complain then. DL1 had worse story. Worse movement. Failed to deliver to season pass holders, nigh scamming us due to deceitful wording, to the point they had to give us the following DLC for free as an apology. Yall are literally Blinded by nostalgia so bad and just hating on dying light 2 Saying its the worst game ever its simply not true at all dying light 2 Is still a great game the parkor is great the story is mid just like the first one the combat in the second is great they Even fixed the zombie faces so that they no longer look cartoony Yes dying light 2 still needs alot of work but its better then Lunch i enjoy it i don't understand the hate dying light 2 is a good game Im excited about Mod supporting but im keeping my hopes low

Yeah, I have plenty of friends that preferred the second game, most of our friend group got the game on epic games for free when DL2 was already out. Most of us played through the first game, co-op sometimes, solo sometimes. A few months later we played DL2, (although that was after a bunch of fixes) we thought it was fun. Most of us liked the way you could choose dialogue options, not because they did something but because it kept us engaged with the story! For its time DL1 might have been better, but most of us enjoy DL2 better maybe since we are without nostalgia.

I gave Techland Day One trust with Dying Light 2 even with all the flaws and critcism it got. The moment that they use Scummy Tactics and their Main DLCs being half decent i am losing faith with Techland and not gonna trust them with my Pre Order again.

Dying light 2 will also get a lot of things from Dying light the beast like graphics update, new weather mechanics maybe cars and many more things they are not abandoning Dying light 2 just because of Dying light the beast so they will improve Dying light 2 more after the standalone DLC

Im excited for the beast. I just played dead island 2 for the first time, and i had such a good time with that game. I put in less than half the hours but would pick dead island 2 to experience again for the first time in a heartbeat. I feel like they are modling the beast after dead island in the sense of a smaller, linear story with a super detailed map. I really hope they pull this off.

To be fair I played the game 3 playthroughs on release (PC) and gave it a looong break afterwards. Now I started Playing it on Ps5 What can I say. It's been 5 hours since skipping the tutorial and I'm having a blast so far. Didn't keep track of all the updates in the meantime though but to be fair. I enjoy it quite a lot.

Dyinglight 2 has hit the wall, they tried everything and fumbled. Pretty sure they are focusing on The beast project and Dyinglight 3 now, learning from the mistakes they made from the previous games.

I played DL2 for the first time like 2 months ago. I really liked the game. I have ~100 hours in my 1 playthrough. I don't feel like opening it ever again, but I enjoyed it. The story was fucked though. It felt like it was going somewhere and then it just didn't. I didn't even find the store, honestly. I hate looking for quests and stuff in sub-menu so I didn' teven bother. + I don't find "kill 999 enemies to unlock a quest maybe" interesting.

I still dont like the weird superhuman twist the game series seems to have now Also the first game has one of my favorite plots in gaming(with the following), but the 2nd game's plot just felt like it had no real substance (little better now after an overhaul to some of the cutscenes) and I hated all the characters(especially barney)
