Since the brand new update, the game feels so fucking good. I actually only got it about 3 weeks ago so I was able to experience it pre- 1.9.0 but that newest patch really did some wonders. Lot of impressive work, wording, and agreeable statements made in this video. DL2 is definitely worth getting, now more than ever! I'm so glad I made the decision to, dying light 1 was my first game on my first xbox one back in 2015 and I LOVED it and still do! Second game feels fantastic. Liked and subbed!

There is a LOT of story aspects that the game could have explored just of off the lore bits from Dying Light 1, like the idea of volatiles being sentient - but no, must of the story ideas either got scrapped, washed down, just to go with something as bland as what the game got in the end.

I never even heard of dying light until like a month ago. I beat the first one about a week ago and just snagged the second one. I'm loving it so far. The story was better in the first but the first story was also pretty basic. Guy comes in for a mission from the dang government and then realized the people are who needs him and not the big guys. Still pretty ok though

@@kitten-whispererI’ve just played the game for the first time for like 6 hours roughly and I’ve been saying the exact same thing to my mate also Dying Light 1 had a much better map as I just preferred the overall look of the map in DL1 as we had a good mix of areas to explore like the small slums city, the bridge with the quarantine zone then the big city after you get halfway through the game and also the following DLC with the countryside so I just feel like the 1st game felt more like real life whereas this new one just feels like it’s non stop rooftops and skyscrapers all the time which just wouldn’t be where you would choose to live in an apocalypse and some better features like the DL1 inventory system was much better and faster to use where as now I feel like it takes a lot longer to do inventory stuff in this new game and on top of that in the new one you can’t even repair the durability on your weapons when in the first game you could so that was one of my biggest pet peeves about this new one so far but I’ll keep trying it and see how it goes as it’s a good game just feels as though it’s unfinished tbh I’d gladly still play the old one and the fact the old one has more active players now than the new one does just proves that point that DL1 nailed it and DL2 fell a bit behind tbh

In my opinion, the game was never actually "Bad". It was unpolished and unfinished, It needed time. Safe to say by around 4-6 months in the game was in a pretty okay spot. Now after 1 year, it's great, there's tons to do (way more than release) and the world has changed in subtle ways. If Techland keep going at this rate, it'll be a great game very soon

The day the game came out, i didnt have a ps5 at the time. Idk if this happend with next gen players too but the main issues for me were how if you move too fast, the world cant keep up, dialog and sound effects is either delayed or they didnt say anything at all (this was soo annoying for me). But what kept me playing was the concept. I always felt like a vigilante and i loved that for a first person parkour.

I loved the first game, just finished it. The nights in 2 are so bright and I can only get my blood bumping and have an intense chase if I intentionally slow down or allow my chase level to go up. And even then I swear the volitiles don't chase me on rooftops as well as they did in the first game. And 2 has no nightmare mode either :(. I also strongly dislike the whole superhuman ability stuff, gets a bit far fetched and not my style.

I bought the Preorder of dying light 2 , as someone who loves zombie horror, at first it wasn't good , I played all of it with high hopes , but sadly it wasn't really that good , the game kept stopping for me , I had to restart the game multiple times , i would fall through the map , I even got stuck inside of a metro tunnel once and honestly after I finished that game I couldn't stop thinking about how I loved the first one , the mechanics, the story, especially Kyle crane was this badass legend that never let anyone stop him no matter how high the cost, and rais was an unforgettable villain , sadistic and twisted and a perfect villain for this game. I loved it and after I realized all that I stopped playing dying light 2 for about a year , it wasn't exciting anymore , but after this recent update about 2 weeks ago when It came out I started seeing how everyone started loving it again so I gave it a chance and I have to say , there are no more bugs that I have encountered after a year of it being out , they added a new story dlc which I think isnt the best but definatly not the worst so far , I'm in the middle of playing it but overall If anyone is looking to see if this a game for them I would give this maybe a 7 or 8 out of 10, overall for the whole game it has gotten better and honestly I'm proud that they fixed what was wrong with it on its initial launch , I came back and I'm very happy to see the changes they added , and after I play the whole dlc I'll make an edit to this so anyone who wants to know if getting the dlc is worth it. Just finished the game today. It's still riddled with bugs and glitches, but I was having way too much fun to care. In some cases, the bugs even added to the fun. I spent a total of 40+ hours, where the story (which I agree was a bit eh at times) totalled to maybe 10-15 hours. The rest of the time, I was just having a good time exploring the map, doing sidequests, collecting treasure, etc. while listening to Massive Attack. It's far from a 10/10, but "the food I had was delicious, and I'm glad I had it". Gonna do another run someday.

Mate, can you believe that Dying Light 1 isn't available in Germany?! Apparently when it came out Germany was being very strict about violence (something about being able to decapitate and delimb human NPCs was the deciding factor). Even DL2 is only available here in its censored version (can't decapitate/dismember NPCs or play multiplayer online outside of Germany). Not a gamebreaker for me but still. I've often read that DL1 is better but what is your take? Would I be missing much by not playing the first one? Great review!

the DL1 is better in the world and how the zombies interact with it, and you have a lot of content now, the history is better in DL1 than 2 because they rework the history in last moment, and theres a lot of cut content but the parkour is better in DL2 than in 1, but they also cut some of the best skills of 1 in general they are not that different but the little details are better in DL1 like you can't throw weapons in DL2 and some other is better DL1 because is more cheap now but in the future really you should buy DL2 because it's really getting better. (i don't know much english so i tried my best to say what i wanted to say)

The story in DL1 isn't anything special but the side quest are next to none...also DL1 has the following. DL2 has better combat, side activities, and parkour. But, man I love the world of DL1 so much I honestly just prefer DL1. Don't get me tho wrong DL2 is also fun and worth getting. Edit: I forgot to say the characters in DL1 are also a lot more fun interesting.

Id say if it’s on sale get it. But the story leaves a lot to desire and the illusion of choice is very real when making decisions in the story. However, the map looks nice but having more dark areas and less well lit buildings would make night time more fun. The movement in game is nice but the combat is dull. The ending of the game might leave the majority of people unfulfilled. So all in all, at full price I don’t think it’s worth getting but if it’s on sale why not.

From now on, every game should have DL2 level of map accessibility. The parkour system, glider and grappling hook just make the game so much better. Imagine playing call of duty in a big city map but you can't access most of the building and rooftops. DL2 just kills other first person games in terms of freedom of access.

The thing that sold the game for me was this. I buy the game yesterday and i start playing, i got in a fight on a roof with 3 human oponents, as we fight we make noises and atract 3 zombies who wanna play with us. The fight continues and one of the 3 human oponents got bit by a zombie, instead of just dying, he turn in a zombie and start attacking me and other 2 dudes. This was a neat detail which really sold the game for me.

Crafting in DL1 was amazing. Like crafting a pipe iron with blade weapon but it requires pipe and blades individually, in DL2 however it just requires SCRAPS. Crafting in DL2 is shit sadly

imo it is better than 1, people will complain about the story, but with techland games you should never expect a good story, since dead island their zombie games stories have never been great to begin with. the gameplay however is better than 1, specially the parkour which is just a natural evolution from 1, the floatiness is something so minor to complain about that idk why people have so much problem with it, the momentum however is lacking which i hope techland patches. overall a nice sequel, i'm glad techland tried new things instead of just doing the same game over again

I've been playing this for about a month now, I have just a pinch over 75 hours across it (not really that much for how much content is in this game) and I gotta say it's pretty fun. It's not perfect, but in my time I have had zero crashes, I've seen a couple of small very minor bugs but nothing to even write home about. I don't think it's as good as the first one overall, but it's still a really good game. It took me about 15 hours though before it started sinking it's teeth in me however, before that I was kind of not feeling it to be honest.

Haven't played in a minute. Did they change this? Before when enemies would block, even just with their small melee weapons and I'd crouch and go for their feet the game would act like their block was an imaginary forcefield protecting their whole front. Really irritated me as the rest of it felt so real and visceral at times but the game wouldnt let me do what seemed like a natural response when your enemy is blocking their upper body

The story is a frustrating mess at best and downright offensive and cringe inducing at worst. So many cut scenes, characters, voice acting and their dialogue just left me scratching my head instead of being engaged or invested in what was happening on screen. Other times, I remember laughing out loud in what I can only describe as confusion at the just bizarre voice acting and dialogue. The story is easily the weakest part of this game which is otherwise fantastic and loads of fun. The only other gripe is that the key binds for pc are a chore and it seems like mid-high tier games these days seem much more aimed at the console market as far as the controls and quality of life are concerned.

In my 15 years playing video games, Dying Light 2 has the easiest keybinds usage and settings. It makes fighting against volatiles just like shooting a fish in a barrel

What's wrong with the controls my guuuuy? 😂 Is is that hard to push buttons on a keyboard? If you don't like something you can remap it. The controls are as basic and simple they can get. Also what's up with y'all bashing the story so much? Looks like that turned into a trend already. The story seemed ok to me, i don't have anything bad to say about it but wasn't wow either.

Controls arent that bad HOWEVER the crossbow/bow aiming mechanic is absolutely atrocious, due for those weapons also having blocking mechanic. Cant change it either so its stuck on "c" awful key bind

Got this yesterday have been wanting to play dying light 2 for a while now. I loved dying light one and really enjoyed it melee did feel like u were hitting zombies with a rubber mallet took abt 7 hits before the zombie would die I'm glad this game looks gd despite the negative reviews people saying don't but dl2 it's not as gd as dl one I still wanted to get it and play it hoping we get the same with dead island 2

nah it's certainly fun if you play with your mates, otherwise it's a one-time play anyway, THO it would be better if it has more things to do just like DL1, i always loved to simply do exploration on The Following DLC with friends, had good times with it, as for DL2, it's just streets, some copy pasted "dungeon" or GRE labs, which is a shame because DL1 interiors is all unique and interesting

@@damonguill9648 I am playing post game end too but apart from encounters and quirky chases there is nothing else to do. The combat is somewhat satisfying and killing multiple volatiles and tyrant volatiles is a challenge that keeps giving but what else? They advertised it having 500 hours gameplay but my total hours is just 125 hrs. Personally I am just waiting for Sons of Forest and Elden Ring DLC. And I forgot to add, survivor faction is simply not worth a replay.

1080p is fine. Performance beats resolution any day. Too many games like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk tried for 4K and ran horribly. 1080p still looks good in my opinion, and again, performance beats all anyway.

Go for it while it's on sale. I've been playing it since release and the game has been improved a lot. with the newest patch a lot of bugs have been fixed and the game now feels so much better if you have played Dying light 1 though, you'll notice that there are some aspects of the old game that could have been put and would have made DL2 even better. but who knows, maybe in the future we'll see. :)

Right off the bat .. 0:10 As someone who says you loved it in 2022 .. are you the right person to talk about this? Can you be critique enough and see the problems with the game? I wonder :) 1:33 for example the story for me was horrible .. doesnt make any sense. Aiden is supposed to be super mutant like captain america, stronger, faster, has knowledge of zombies because its one of the few who travels the world, visits towns .. but guess what? He is weak, pathetic, knows nothing, during the story, cutscenes, when something is happening he is always standing there, screaming, crying, watching, freezing, not helping like here 3:30. And story was bad, glad you said it. If you didnt noticed in lots of cutscenes NPC teleported, even during gameplay .. literally using teleport, hey i am here bum, gone and appears 150 meters away. Or that NPC is going south yet it appears north, doesnt make sense. They made it very illogical and easy for themselves. The horizon look is nice, beautiful like here 2:33. But up close, the zombies, the towns, the streets, it reminded me some shit games made extremely fast in 2015, especially the body movement. When i buy something i at least finish the game even if its utter garbage but with DL2, i just couldnt and dropped it. 6:55 i extremely disagree .. game reminded me AC Valhalla a lot. Every door locked, too many puzzles. Same here. Suddenly the whole town is just one big parkour puzzle? Right. If you cant design properly natural parkour course, you shouldnt be making fake one and saying "its all natural" .. dev said .. also, back to animations, worst .. DL1 had better parkour animations and it was much more fluent. 7:17 exactly the problem .. all the obstacles are build to make it harder, stupider .. its too artificial. I wonder how you can like it. 9:20 realistic? Okay .. i am gonna ignore that. 10:20 already explained this above, THATS THE PROBLEM! Aiden should have known all that from traveling the world. You are not playing some lazy dad who just got up and has idea to LEARN parkour and stuff .. its idiotic. Half the video is gone and you keep talking about the same stuff all people are talking about when it was released .. you have zero talk about how the game aged in that year .. were there some upgrades? updates? Something better compared to released stuff? Feels like i am wasting my time here. The main of topic of "buying in 2023" should be exactly this .. the difference, comparison of state from release date in 2022 and year later in 2023.
