‎Dying to be Me - A Short Film by Deva Katta

Hello everyone, women comprise 50% of India's population, contribute to 70% of India's working hours, earn 10% of India's salary. But, own 1% of India's wealth. And it's been 69 years since we got Independence. Yet, women are not given the freedom to be themselves, living their own life they dreamt about. Lets support the economic Independence of women and bring the real Independence. Live free and let live free.
“Dying to be me” is dedicated to the cause of women’s economic independence and a small effort to make our society think about its women and encourage and support them to realise their true potential. Happy Independence Day!

Good short film but how is it connected to the book - Dying to be me? Have you guys even read it? It's one of the best spiritual book of what happens after death. I was excited to see the title and thought it's a remake of Anita's story. Some one should really create a genuine film/ short film.

Yes if we really consider that individual rights or more important then this is the way to go, and it leads to where you know, nothing wrong to be like that , and discuss things before marriage, but if family is the unit of life then the couples will do exactly what is required , a marriage should also happen on financial aspect of life , our culture has always prescribed the minimal route for external wellbeing and immersed us on inner wellbeing, we are a culture of having joy in giving away and not taking it out for self, in my concern the family is a framework of love , it needs wealth health, prosperity and unconditional bonding, where it doesn’t matter who brings what , but should definitely get it all, if the dignity is relied on getting a job,and freedom is tagged on going to job but not doing something for yourself, which is really confusing, only leftover is the kid ,when will he/she stop going to school, what about his/her dignity and freedom.

As per this Video. This husband never shared money to this family and probably making his wife cooking and eating all day long and washing plates. so wife felt it’s better to work outside and earn money too, once that happens, wife will have choice to find a dignified husband too.

most children are stupid and disrespectful but I love them. I am a teacher. But a woman also has a right to have a job and have children as well. The two do not exclude each other. The men also have to do the housework, learn with the children and play with the children. Children need their fathers as well, not only mothers. A couple should share everything about their lives, not just sex.

@@tildus5 most children are children,unless their midgets and you've got something against midgets too, a woman should be able to do as she pleases, yet cultural stuff gets in the way, why don't they start refusing to get arranged marriage first, or make sure they get education etc , even before you talk about a job and economic independence, but then again that's through western eyes,and westerners miss the point of life quite a bit
