He does have an amazing ability to put velocity on the ball with just a flick of the wrists. No wind up or hesitation.

I've seen this guy play in the flesh, and I can tell you right now, anyone being named in previous comments in comparison to Dylan holds the utmost respect for this man, both as a player and person. I see comments about Drummy and Remus etc. He's playing alongside both of them in this very video. Some of you commenting saying "does he know Benji"? I can guarantee you all that Benji most definitely knows who he is and has for some time along with Benji's brother Jordan who's played with Dylan in the Aussie men's team. Johnson hasn't been on the touch scene in years, so trying to compare his 08 video's is redundant. Any past and present great you've ever known would take a step back after witnessing this guy play in the flesh. He's a Carver through and through and would take on any of your top 6 with no hesitation. I would even bet a substantial amount of money and go as far as to say his wife would slice most of you smack talkers up any day of the week.

Most of you have no clue. If you grew up playing touch you'll knowThere are plenty of touch players that have sjohnsons skills if not better. His speed how ever is ridiculous. Especially when he goose steps he's gone. Touch is a highly skilful game some of league and unions most elusive players honed those skills growing up playing touch especially in nz and Aussie. Try beating a player with out being touched to beating a player that has to tackle you, thats why some of them make it look easy because to tackle someone you have to commit a lot more then touch so there Easier to step if timed right!

+Francis Hepi exactly !!! you took the words right out of my mouth.....also, i would like to add on somehting. To those who dont play touch " If you cant touch someone with ease, how do you expect to tackle them with everything you've got?" Think about that for a while
@lickjam33509 жыл бұрын
+cannibal king There's a different running mentality. In one game you have the potential to get the arse knocked out of you and in the other, speed and supreme skills are a must. New Zealand have better individual players but Australia continue to dominate Touch because their team work is far superior. This is most noticeable in the mixed comps as the females in the Australian teams tend to have a lot more involvement in comparison to the New Zealand teams. My point is their transition between players is a lot more seamless. I'm a Kiwi fan but Australia's Touch dominance is undeniable.

All of these people from nrl are comparing him to players like Benji and Shaun Johnson. But both of them cannot throw the ball as flat, powerful and precise as Dylan. Dylan’s footwork is at least as good as Benji and Shaun except in touch, all you have to do is touch them, in rugby league you have to get a hold of them/bear hug. I’ve grown up playing touch my whole life and people underestimate how difficult it is to throw a pass like Dylan. First you have to focus on getting on the outside of your player. And then decide who to pass the ball to in a split second. Not only that but hit them on the chest. I just hope people realise that Dylan is simply better than Benji and Shaun with all due respects to them. I’m only 12 and I’ve had the privilege to meet Hennessy, he is a really sound guy and it pays off on the field. God Bless 🙌

wouldnt say dylan is the best... ;) yeah i know what you mean, we played in touch nationals in NZ last year and alot of people think you dont need to be good to play touch competitively
@lickjam33509 жыл бұрын
+Jeremy O'Wheel Totally different games. Most touch players cant adapt to the contact and tackling of the NRL, their passing and stepping style also leaves them volnerable to being smashed ie. switch passes and switch dummy passes where a touch player twists the upper body past 180 degrees is not a good time to get smashed and the huge step doesn't always turn out pretty in the contact game. Adjustments have to be made, so far Benji Marshall and Shaun Johnson are the only to successfully make that transition. Also the fact that Johnson earns a shitload more and them some than a touch player would, could have a barring on his decision to leave touch.

+bou bear Maybe he can't tackle. Maybe he doesn't like full contact. Great touch players have been around for almost 30 years but if you can't make the transition then there's no point. Australian touch players have in the past been boring to watch(successful yes but boring none the less) but their ability to work seamlessly as a team with speed has always been their greatest asset.

@movenz55997 жыл бұрын
Johnson only played high school level before he switched to league, pete walters has never played in the modern era of touch at the elite level and dominated so it's hard to say how good he is / was. Drummy is definitely one of the best and remus is not comparable to Dylan as the level of touch has developed to a faster and more technical game. To compare any of the players against each other is apples and oranges.
@Geelaxboy4life6 жыл бұрын
He's played with all of them except Johnson. Both Drummy and Ree are in this very highlight reel playing along side him. And he was in Pete's galaxy team in Whakatane in 2012/13 somewhere around there.

Angus McArthur-Williams It's better they score on the wing then in the middle its a key concept in touch
@Sebbettful9 жыл бұрын
Angus McArthur-Williams which is why Hennessey is such a great player - because he can deliver that pass. Most people can't throw a 25m long with that pace and accuracy in the face of a defence shutting down on them. The point Lachlan Henrisson is making is that by the defenders coming in, they take away the easy scoring options and leave the passer with only the hard pass, which won't come off 19 times out of 20. Hennessey is so good because he can make the hard pass most times.

@Bigusbackus6 жыл бұрын
Watch a dylan stepping video or something this is mainly showcasing his setting up ability. Theres more to touch then just stepping. Dylan has a great playstyle, great speed and acceleration + passing and stepping he has it all. And he controls the game well.
@Bigusbackus6 жыл бұрын
In reality none of the guys you just mentioned could play at dylans level. Dylan made the australian team...saying a rugby league player could instantly beat a national touch player whos considered the best at his own sport? Thats like saying dylan could go and play league for australia cause he played touch.
@Bigusbackus6 жыл бұрын
Its 2 different sports in reality the 3 guys you mentioned would need years of game time and training to be able to go from league to touc and play at a national level and even with the training etc they still might not be good enough. Touch football is very quick and its totally different to league.
