"Your imagination is a fairly crucial tool to get through the day" is a wonderful way of describing how stressful and draining reality can be sometimes. We all have important stuff to do, but getting separated from reality and retreating into your own internal world and self is needed at times.

@@Paul-sl9zm Season one was co-written by Dylan Moran… and himself! No but seriously, the first season had Graham Linehan as a writer/director but after that he wasn’t really involved. Dylan Moran was writing for the show during its entire run, along with some other writers for season 2 and 3.

I really enjoy Dylan Moran (I think because I am half Irish and I can see my Irish aunts and uncles really enjoying him if they were still alive) but to me he often looks like he is either on speed (amphetamines) or is going through drug withdrawal. Watch a younger Dylan Moran and he is thin. Look at current day Dylan Moran and he looks like he has been doing a fair amount of drinking and (cake) eating.

TOmmy tiernan privately gives talks to charities like focus ireland. and last year he gave a talk to the association i am a member anyway. Tommy Tiernan was doing a gig with Dylan Moran and there were a couple of people who were starting to get a bit mouthy. cause it looked like Dylan moran had lost his place. Moran got to the end of the set. and before he finished he pulled out of his pocket his script for the evening. looked at the crowd in the eye folded up the piece of paper. took his bow and walked off. morans shambolic style is part of the act and he wriitten into the act that he looked like had lost his place. Genius...

@Mrpublicimagelimited2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Tiernan was ok till the late 90's.. around that time he ran out of ideas and he convinced himself that shouting lazy, poorly-concieved, material was funny. The higher the volume, the funnier it is, right? PS: It isn't. PPS: Tiernan's 1998 appearance on the Late Late was the turning-point. Criminally unfunny, and it was all downhill from there..

Not many people like Gay Byrne in Ireland, find his interview style off putting and find him a very establishment figure, even though Gay Byrne has promoted many comedians on his show during his 37 year tenure as host of Ireland's Late Late Show, just some comedians are not big fans of him and his style.
