I get trying to put together a budget ls7 build, BUT i would be cautious about throwing good money at an ls7 block. The money on machine work and fixing one sleeve would put a good dent in an iron dart block or even a used lsx block that frequently pop up for sale.

oh brother I know. There are so many good used sets of 4" bore pistons out there its silly. i should have waited to see what the outcome of actually putting the sleeve in would be on the piston size before i bought parts. The machinist actually found a pretty good deal on some 4.135 pistons and is willing to cut me a deal on labor. Thankfully he has a day job at ETS so i'm not taking food off his kid's plate for my silly wants. onwards we go.

Well, you can spend the 1200, cause you got off cheap on the euro van, or you can wait till another block comes up, which will require some patience, something i have none of. i don't think abandoning the project is a viable thing, at this point, cause them heads weren't free. We all go through the " I want this to work" even in the face of difficult odds. I learned the other day, its easier to eat crow, than crap one. Be well.
