I love Dylan in his big brother mode, it brings out the best in him. I love how he jokes that Erica suddenly looks taller after having her first period, like any typical sibling.

Well, even though he never bragged about who he slept with, Dylan also probably previously only thought about periods re women not getting pregnant. I am assuming that having to confront the idea of his sister also having a period threw him in a loop. So he had to think fast what to say to 'congratulate' her, Once she understood what was happening, she was proud.

I have this episode on a DVD, it aired on January 12, 1994. I tape recorded it from around this point on in 1998 when it was being rerun. It was only from 1:08 on here that I noticed, "OMG, it's Heidi!" (I mean from the 1993 edition.)

Jim and Cindy were basically everyone's parents, next to Nat, and I liked that Dylan felt close enough to Cindy to ask her to help out with Erica's first period, since she'd been through it with Brenda.

I felt sad and embarrassed when I got my first period. When my niece starts menstruating she'll probably feel that way too. At least I'll know what to do if it happens at my house. I have a packet of pads in my drawer just in case.

You know you barely saw Dylan at Kelly’s mom’s house and you never really saw him too much at the beach apartment either. A few times but I swear he was at the Walsh’s more than anywhere else.

Well in fairness, she hadn't expected to find a grown man with an upset girl in the locker room. I'm sure that set off alarms. Once she was told they were brother and sister she did not get security. Yes, she left upset (bc she had wanted to change) but she did not do anything else.

I really liked the relationship between Dylan and Erica. You could easily see an instant connection and just know he'd go to the ends of the earth for her. That Karen in the bathroom though, ugh. She needs to go.

Tells hte lady who threatens to call security to mind her own business and then after she sees that there's nothing untoward occurring, she resigns to waiting to use the locker room, instead of screaming her head off and shouting 'sexual harassment!' and causing a scene. This is like from another world...

it's half comedy. Both of them are scared. Dylan probably only had a vague knowledge of what a period was. And I'm sure he did not know where to get pads. They obviously (being in Beverly Hills) drove past supermarkets and drugs stores where she could have gotten pads.
