Hi, that 40 F2.5 is also existing on Z-Mount (the Nikon 40 F2 is a little bit more expensive but lighter/smaller), it has the same form factor as the 20mm F2.8 from Viltrox (Nikon Z/Sony E) also a good option for travel / cheap and small wide angle

Seems like an incredible lens! I've owned the Sony G version of this lens for almost a year, and I think 40mm is an awesome choice for a beginner to start with. Looking at the performance and considering the price, it's almost a no-brainer! Thanks for another good video man!

Pretty cool little lens...what would you prefer the viltrox 27mm pro or the viltrox 40mm? I have a sony a7rv so in crop mode the 27mm becomes a 40 but with a f1.4. Plus 26 mp is enough for family pictures and everyday shooting.

Two very different yet similar lenses. If you don’t mind the size of the 27mm, I would go with that. Similar in size to a 35mm GM prime. The bokeh looks incredible which would be great for family photos.

Thank you. I own the Sony 40mm f/2.5 G so I won’t be adding this but very interested to see what full frame lenses Viltrox comes out with at these great price points. For my A6700 I bought the 27/1.2 and 75/1.2 Viltrox lens and they are great so hope Viltrox will come out with som special Full frame lenses like a faster 28mm. Take care.

@@DylanBlackburn Thank you. Didn’t realize they had one. Will take a look. Have you tested it yet or shot with it. Seems like it is half way between the size of Sigma’s I-Series f/2 lenses 65mm and Zeus’s Batis 40mm f/2 CF and. 365 grams so should play well on a compact C body.

I already have the FE 35mm 1.8 .. weight and size doesnt bother me at all as its already pretty compact. Should i still consider this lens?

I also bought this lens instead of 40G😂 However, it has some slow AF in night (in a7c2 body)😢 Is it the problem of viltrox lens? or just problem of the amount of brightness?

I haven’t tested it at night yet but I would definitely assume the Sony 40mm G’s autofocus motors perform better at night.

I did the same thing and will probably do what @dylanblackburn mentioned to sell. Viltrox has some other interesting LAB lenes hitting the market soon.
