Good to know about snapshots, Dylan. I never thought about dupes of compound clips and multicam clips inheriting the parent properties. I’ve always used duplicate project for versioning.

My pleasure, Kent. Ya definitely go with snapshots. I've definitely made the error of using duplicate projects and after a lot of editing in multicam clips, I sadly went back to some old versions to find that they had been changed as well.

I totally agree! The magnetic timeline is of course the default in FCP and one reason why it's so fast, but obviously there are times when you'd like to disengage it. The "~'" key is the savior in that instance. Thanks for watching, my friend!

Worth mentioning that once you have a keyword collection, you can add clips to it by dragging and dropping. You can also add just ranges of a clip, so for example if you’re clipping up an interview you can select a range and drag it to a keyword collection called “clips” and you have a simple easy list of all your clips. I’ve been editing in Premiere all day and the media management is awful compared to FCP.
@dylanjohndickerson

Thanks for the free guide. I wrote a bunch of notes but I have as much trouble reading them as anyone else would. Your guide has a very clear definition for all of the functions and their keystrokes. Just taking ten minutes to look it over before starting a project really refreshes the old memory. Your comment on the grave/tilde key helped explain why some of my clips were put out of synch
