Close game! This one was super entertaining because road and army were both contested! Based on the setups, any player could have realistically gone for either win condition (or double play).

For your second settlement, taking the 6 5 12 up to the 9 12 makes more sense to me. You get on very strong ore that you’re lacking. You go without wheat, but the 11 wheat isn’t great anyways

Just wondering, why not city the 5 9 10 around the 13:30 mark. Isn't that just objectively your highest-producing settlement? Plus, 10 turns into a free card just like the 4 did

@@CptClough With the 9 brick getting the city action then he would've been able to fight for road and (probably) win the game sooner. Even though wheat is valuable, an 11 vs a 5 ain't mathing it up. Not to mention the 6 sheep would certainly receive more blocks on it than the 5 sheep solo.

You said the next step for the extortion meta is to scam more often. In a sense, this is true. Look ahead several more steps and you'll see that ever not scamming is completely irrational, thus even extorting at all is irrational. The reason it's good is because people just believe you when you say you will do what they ask. If you break that trust, they will stop believing you.

At 26:00 you could use your knight to go searching for an ore! You forgot to play a knight at this round (second to last round)

I believe the ore was just mono'd for 3. Then that 3 ore was spent on a city. No ore was rolled after that, so there was no ore to be found. I think Dylighted mentioned "roll first," indicating he should steal after, but he might have cut out his realization that no ore was on the board.

I think it's important you started exploiting non-binding agreements. Too many commenters were getting butthurt in previous videos about your opponents "scamming" you/each other.

Because then oj takes 6-4-11 and dominates. Plus 6-4-11 gives more settlement spots and port options. It was the correct decision by dylan but i also thought about the 9-4-11 option.

an idea for colonist could be taking stuff that chess does, puzzles, and adding it to their website have a multiple choice question during a specific situation. practice early mid or late game. im sure you know someone at colonist who could start coding this type of thing
