2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide clutch basket rebuild.
Working on your bike you come across a lot of problems you don’t expect. Searching the web, it’s hard to find videos of your exact problem and how to fix them. I hope this video helps out anyone with the same problem I came across.

For ever loving god man get a 60 dollar press from harbor frieght or northern tool. Son i new when u didnt flip over the basket to get the clutchs out, this one was going to be fun. One more thing. Get a vise bud any man , trying to diy style guys best 2 investment after a tool box is a table vise, and press! Thanks carry on!

I refuse to pay 300 bucks for a tool that's going to sit in my toolbox for most of it's existence. 😬

you are beating on the back side of an already weak aluminum clutch basket. this can cause more problems than you already have. I get the idea but this could turn out very expensive. those stock clutch baskets are very weak.

what was your problem to begin with? i am having terrible noise coming from the clutch area in the primary still. after i have replaced every bearing including main drive gear in the transmission. seems to worsen as i ride it longer. ride has been down over 2 months and still haven't pinned down the problem. hope you see this message soon.

I was converting my bike to chain drive and when I noticed the teeth were stripped out on the basket. I had no problem or noise when riding my bike that indicated the problem. If you are having a terrible sounding rattle in your primary case, it might be the big spring disks on the motor shaft. They might be installed wrong. I made that mistake myself and it took me a while to figure it out.

i hv harly bob 1600cc having some ENGINE noisePROBLEM while self BUTTON press so pls suggest which part i SHOULD change

Compensator chain too tight and probably from automatic chain tensioner in primary. Does your noise happen after bike is warm and you go to restart? If so it’s what i said and probably also starter clutch going bad now due to the issue over over tightened chain

Also stock compensator could be going bad also from over tightening of primary chain. I had same issues and I replaced the automatic chain tensioner with a Baker Attitude manual tensioner and a Baker Compensator plus primary chain and transmission mainshaft bearing and starter clutch. All because of Harleys flawed automatic chain tensioner which cause severe issues in primary

Back in 2000 I broke a clutch hub doing that I was cringing , the whole time 1300 bucks , beating on the main bearing is not good . the cage race can get knocked out of round and under torque it will blow . Been there . Now I go to the welding shop pay them 10 bucks to use the press . they like to watch me do my own work and they make money . I live in Rule MO I make a lot of my own tools to get by . just like your bolt press , but a shop press is the only way to go .

This is exactly what my grandpa said to me when he watched me get the struggle bus wrenching on w/e. After I finished or got pissed, then he’d show me how to use the press. Good times
