Is the application of rtv necessary or an added detail

It seals the chamber and firebox which helps to keep the smoke inside. Its not necessary, but it does let you cook more consistently and get repeatable results. It was worth the extra $6 to me👍🏼🇺🇸🥃

Was going to do a Pork butt today but had to change to tomorrow, had a family thing come up do we're going to be gone. Probably the only thing I do before next spring....starting to get cold here and maintaining temp in the cold is tough on anon insulated pit😬😳😅

Very cool! I’m still smoking in a barrel grill, I think it’s time to upgrade!

Yeah, I have used a small Master bilt for 12 years or my bbw teams big Jambo. The Masterbilt died and I wanted a stick burner vertical, thus git my mini budget. $254 with cover and tax from Walmart...very happy so far.

Check the bottom of the cook chamber a couple small holes there too..and in the door on the bottom close to the edge of the gasket.. Although I don't think they meant to build this thing airtight...probably don't hurt tho.. Also seasoned mine with some vegetable oil before I did the burn in...Load up your racks...somtime after..and pickup some pillsbury biscuits put them on your racks you'll find all your hot spots.😁🤙.. don't eat the burnt biscuits.. but the golden Brown ones should be good😁🤙💯👍.. Happy smoking bro Cheers eh🇨🇦👍

Awesome advice .... Going to watch every inch for leaks, have plenty of sealant for spot fills. I appreciate the heads up. Plan on doing a pork butt tomorrow after the burn in....will also be coating the whole interior with vegetable oil. Got my sprayer and paper towels ready. Will be fully seasoned.....I love new toys🤘🏼😎🤘🏼🇺🇸 Thanks again for the advice, I really appreciate it👍🏼
