Step 2: Problem with raising ISO is that the unwanted details in the light scrims and background become noticeably more visible. I get what you're saying about recycle time, but I'd prefer to shoot slower and keep the image stronger. Or get more powerful lights! :D

My kid hated when I used to ask him to be in my photos, no matter if I was just testing, practicing, or creating. I never tried paying him though. Since this is for commercial use, he should get the same day rate that you pay your other models. So $5 and a beer?

How much do you usually pay your other models for simular provided services? (That's how much i would pay) i have a 12 yo who vends a couple times a year and easily pulls in $600-800 per day. That money was "earned" by them, and although i sometimes have them reimburse me for floating them supplies, real world money teaches real world skills. A $20 dollar payout (as suggested in the comments) only teaches kids about exploitation, and i fear that the leson becomes " how to exploit or be exploited" if not handled honestly. Would you model for 20 bucks if you had to provide outfit and do your own hair?

@@payamjirsa I'm confused, and a little dense... if your kid was on my "how-to video" and I only paid him 20 bucks yet every other model I booked, I paid a living wage for a days work, you would be fine with that? Reminds me of The Ferengis 110th rule of acquisition "exploitation starts at home" but like you said, we agree to disagree. (Full disclosre, I think the arrangements I've made with my kids is double whatever minimum wage is and a 4 hour minimum, but thats not as glamorous as modeling)
