I'm trying this for the very first time. I actually have 2 identical audio file on my timeline. One is the original that I mute and the other is one that I cleaned up in Audition and prefer to use. Dynamic captions applied to both. Can I remove it from the muted track? Additionally the captions are not in sync. I see no way to adjust them. It might be because the file is large and the preview could be delayed but I can't tell for sure. I'm anxious to hear your response.

The transcript that is used for the captions should be the one picked up only from one file, the one that is the highest in the tracks. If you move one of the audio above the other (tracks), you should see it changes where it gets the transcript from. As far as changing the timing, you can now drag the words on the purple bar to adjust the timing. This was added about a month ago.

Indeed! It seems it also auto-detects other languages. Requests I've seen since the launch: - allow editing and adding in missing words - exporting the transcript - changing to all caps

Have you found a way to add more words to the transcription window? It skips the first 4 words and will let me fix the later wrong words, but not add the missing.

No, I don't think it supports that at the moment. Even if you could somehow add the missing words, you'd need a way to align them to the audio properly, and Camtasia doesn't do re-alignment of words to audio like Descript does. I tried and it is possible to edit one word and type two words instead, if say, a word was missing somewhere, but it would end up just considering it one word and play it at the same time as that timestamp was there initially. For more advanced editing like this you'd probably need Audiate or something else.

I record with Camtasia and edit in Camtasia. It is possible to run the recorder and show stuff in Camtasia editor at the same time.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to export the transcribed captions at this point. Hoping that comes soon though, it's a question I tend to get right after mentioning the dynamic captions. I think Techsmith is careful to not make this compete with Audiate too much ;)

I am not sure, I have not tried it with other languages but I think it just assumes English for now. I will try to look into it.

I tried it with spanish audio and it transcribed spanish words, so I guess it auto-detects the language somehow.

I CERTAINLY THINK IT IS A BUG IN THE SCREEN RECORDER BECAUSE IN THE OLDER VERSION I HAD (IN CAMTASIA 9) EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. Hi Ilana, that sounds like a challenging one, particularly if the support team couldn't solve it. When you say "damages all the colors", what do you mean, like they look washed out, or super saturated and broken? Maybe it's a GPU issue, do you have your drives up to date for your graphics adapter? I can't provide much more info without more background. Have you tried on a different computer?

@user-sv8jg4gg4o a lot of things changed since Camtasia 9. The entire rendering and recording engine has been overhauled as far as I know. You can’t compare them. What computer and OS do you have?

At the moment it's not possible to specify the language I think, it auto-detects it. Techsmith have confirmed that it detects the language and correctly transcribes in that language but I'm not sure if it supports kannada. It is whatever the "whisper ai" supports. Whisper is the engine that transcribes. Have you tested by adding an audio file in that language?
