Great minds! I knew there had to be a way, but adding the green screen with the black opaque rendering makes it look so much better. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world (from one 40+ year old to another).

Thanks for sharing this endless workaround. In Camtasia for Mac its even worse, since the captions doesn't have an individual track. I gave up on adjusting the height with multiline captions even for a short video. I hope Techsmith improve this in the future.

The trick is good. However when you export the final video it will be impossible to show and hide the captions . They will be stuck with the video

That's correct... this is only for when you want to burn the subtitles into the video. If you want your audience to have control over showing or hiding the subtitles, then you need to export the SRT file and there's no need to spend time with formatting at all... just upload the SRT file to KZbin along with your video :-)

Thank you! It´s completely absurd all the workaround that you have to make to move some subtitles. Camtasia here was very annoying.

This is great, but I have a question. Are the new captions searchable when done this way?

I think you might be referring to when you save a video along with Techsmith's Smart Player. When you do that, then you'd have the option to use "closed captions" (when the viewer has the ability to turn them on or off). However, when burning the captions into the video (or baking them in), regardless of whether you use the subtitle track or the method shown in this video (creating an image of the captions), when the captions are burned in, they would not be searchable. I hope that helps!
