I met Benny at the school where I taught and recognized him immediately, calling out "youre benny the jet!" and he turned around and what happened next was a great 5 min conversation on his career and future plans. He was very pleasant in person, very articulate and eager to discuss his fighting tactics which Ive admired over the years. Cant say enough good about the man, very warm individual and very approachable and humble, they just dont make em like that anymore!

Sensei Benny the Jet is one of a kind. Flawless I would say, because he was a ferocious fighter and teacher as well. And yeah, amazing actor, with one of the best fight scenes of all time with Jackie Chan in the movie Meels on Wheels.

Benny was a big hero of mine in my very early days of becoming a martial artist. I still admire this legend greatly, and have heard from a friend who used to train at the Jet Centre, that Benny is truly a great guy.

Sensi Benny comes from the generation of Martial Artists who where good role-models. He was in my top 3 favorites. I really do hope to meet him one day and thank him.🙏🏽

He did a film or two with Jackie Chan. Chan's film company could not get medical insurance from anyone because his stunts were so dangerous. Men have died making his films (I've heard). But when Benny was making a film with Chan in Spain, being the bad guy, Benny had a lot of down time. So he'd visit local karate dojos and (in terms and words that in no way resembled polite speech) challenged anyone and everyone. Not only did he never lose, but Chan and his stunt crew all thought he was crazy as hell. Coming from a bunch of guys who couldn't find anyone to insure them because of their death-defying stunts, that's saying something.

At the age of 19, I had a fight against a thai boxer. I beat him. Had only 3-4 years of taekwondo training and a little bit of boxing under my belt. Its not about what martial art style you practise, or some secret technique. Its about being able to channel some fighting spirit when in time of need. Believe in yourself.

@@THEMARTIALARTSCHANNEL-bb4fx Very true i have beaten Muay Thai fighter with my Western kickboxing style and my Kyokushin/tkd experience. Every person has there own lvl and fighting spirit. also its how bad you want it and study/analzying how other fighters fight. Ive taken Muay Thai , Yaw yan, leth wei, Sanda each style has a little more to learn stragiclyt fighting tho. I remember I use to do a lot bridge exercises to muscle up the neck preventing me from the Muay Thai clench controlling my neck. I just got pissed brawl other guy to death.

Benny was "one of the best of all time...a GOAT". Having said that ....without intending any disrespect....I don't think even Benny would have stood a chance against a WBC boxing champ or a Golden Gloves champ---just boxing. I don't think he came up "as a boxer" but "studied some boxing...to mix with his Karate or TKD ?"....any time you have to tudy more than one style...you spread yourself "thin"....becoming a "jack of all trades...mastr of none"....more so if you start off training in MMA..vs as a boxer (western)....And Benny was a GOAT/legend (again no disresepct)....have TONS of respect for him for what he accomplished and as a person (wlling to teah others/do YT tip videos free...most champs don't)....

I remember when Marc The Roman Costello and Benny fought in the Budokan in Japan. Marc Costello recieve his Black Belt from Sterling Peacock AKA Matt David in Kenpo Karate in 78. If you know Marc The Roman Costello say a prayer for him. Marc got the shot 💉 now he's in a care center with very little brain function. He can barely walk and last time I saw him he was in a wheelchair. King David of Blessed Memory said it best, Im only one step away from Death. ✡️🕎🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

@JoseGonzalez-gg6rs Shalom Aleichem my friend, yes Marc was a great fighter in his early years with Benny, Arnold was coaching him as well. Yes I believe he did get in with some low life characters in his late twenties. I knew him when he stood around 4 feet tall, and everyone took a shot at him 😂 He took me with him to our first Karate class in a college, we were 10 years old. Once we started we never stopped. Best of friends met again some 10 years later and I fought him in the PNE gardens, Robin Webb was the fight promoter. Dennis Alexio fought on the card as main event. Last time I sparred Marc at Sterling Peacocks Dojo he had on a 8 inch body pad and I cracked his ribs, he would never sparr with me again. Marc and myself also trained the Amazing Layla McCarter, women's World Boxing champion, title holder 10 years? Watch her fight you'll see Marc's training in her when she fights. Marc is in a nursing home facility in North Spokane, I believe it's on Hawthorn Rd and Division, Vickie his sister knows the name, she's in the phone book. Can't remember the name, Marc hit me in the head too many times, 😂. ✝️✡️🕎🇮🇱🙏🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏🏽
