This is a Skallywag MDv 1 imitation, except with a double edge which takes away my ability to rotate the knife 90 degrees and slip my thumb from the jimping and grab that little "shelf" the MDv 1 has which allows me to bear down with more force on those cuts. Also, the hook design isn't ergonomically designed to make this useful as a three finger pistol support hand knife like the MDV 1 is.

Awesome review! The knife definitely gets a lot of things right and a lot of criticism will come down to personal preferences and priorities. One thing I would modify would be to add some grip/thickness to the handle to keep it from rotating in your hand.

Nice review. I own the Non-coated and the Neptx coated version. They are Great knives only downfall is the bottle opener

Price is out of line... for a mass produced, machined tool. I am a metalsmith... and can easily make this as a "one off" for that kind of money.

I don't want a bottle opener in my hand grip. Serrations are contra effective. Curve on handle is extended to far. Handle shank seems very small and thin. Edit: However it does look like a robust well built knife.

Yeah if the handle was a little wider I think it would stay oriented a little better in the hand

The mdv from skallywag looks a lil similar but the sheath has a hook that provides an interesting carry option. You should check it out

That’s definitely a cool knife. If you check out my “How to Carry a Fixed Blade Knife Horizontally” video I go over using a similar pocket hook sheath to carry horizontal on the belt line. Thanks for the comment!

Awesome knife, but I'll stick with my 5.25 inch blade modified tanto. Carry it apendix in jeans, and it's invisible. As far as I know, apendix is the best position for quick drawing in a clench. So I can control my attacker's weapon, and draw mine once I create a fraction of a second to do so. Then I have over 5 inches of pointy razor to carve him up.

Yeah I couldn’t find a use for it and seems like a weak point or at least a hot spot on some peoples hands. I’m not sure about the sheath, this is not my knife or design.

Could you try drawing weapon any other way other than your preference? Can the knife be draw and have not the reverse grip?

The way the knife and sheath are designed definitely lends itself to a point down grip. If you wanted to draw the blade point up (coming out the top of your hand) you could use the horizontal belt carry method and cross draw using your pinky in the hook rather than your pointer finger.
