Thank you so much for having that wonderful man in your show! Most of the time I like the people and subjects you choose, but I've always had particular, even fatherly feelings for Dynamo (I'm 65) and would have been really proud if he were my son. It must have been my subconscious that felt he was missing something. After seeing the show, I got the whole picture.

My eldest was obsessed with Dynamo and after I asked what he wanted for his 16th, he said “Dynamo to come to our house” I managed to find Dynamos agent and he agreed to come to our home. He stayed for ages and was such a beautiful young man, performing right in front of my son and his friends, amazing magic. We were allowed to video close up and we still have the tapes. That was 2006. Steven/Dynamo, you still have that exact same charisma and we all wish you every success for the future. You have a beautiful and magical aura 🙌🏽🤗

Last year, in one of the most unexpected times for me and most unexpected place, while walking out on a street outside my house, you saw me wearing a Dynamo sweater I bought during your tour years ago, and you stopped me and smiled at me. You pulled over your car, came off and showed yourself like the most humble human being I ever met. It was one of the most amazing times in my life. As a girl born and raised in Bradford I can really understand a lot of what Steven says. I was bullied so much by people bigger than me, I loved school and learning but was called out for being a know it all, my friends were targeted too and at times the teachers had to drop me off home after school because of how bad it was. The estates in Bradford were full of criminals and was hard to go out without being drawn to it, thankfully my Dad got me and my brother out of there when I was 15 and now we've grown up and have great lives. Cant say the same for the bullies and a lot of the others who got involved in bad stuff but you become who you hang around with. Be proud of yourself Steven xxx

This lad is not bullshitting, he speaks the whole truth and we are proud of him. I remember him as that kid and that kid came across all kinds of adversity, he worked his way out of it, he faced every challenge all the way to the top. I knew his dad from back then, not as a friend but as a figure that was always looking for money or ways to make easy money instead of getting a job, he never came across as a bad, evil, violent person because he was well liked but he wasn't to be trusted and a front to get what he wanted, he was weak and lazy. I didn't know about the abuse to his mum N. It was sad to know that he only wanted to reunite with his son for alternative reasons other than to be proud of him. I used to see him hanging around the city square before he died and he was the same as he always was, a chancer and a shit father, luckily Stephen he had a great family behind him. I'm sad that Stephen felt the need to end his life because of the things that happened later on in his career and health but he really is a strong minded man that has gone on to inspire thousands of people, he is a lovely guy. All the very best to him, hope to see you some time. Welcome back.

So damaged yet so giving, you are a remarkable man you are pure magic simply just being you. As someone who has been where you were it is a daily fight but it's one you can win. My love and prays to you and all your family because it effects all those around you.

Stay away from black magic kids, Islamically even trickery like card tricks is a form of magic. Suicide is from the devil and when you do stuff like black magic you are with the devil and thus become depressed suicidal all sorts. Stay with your lord the creator of the heavens and the earth. This is merely tricks taught my the devil and spells. With many dark sacrifices and evil to get more tricks and spells.

I am from Ethiopia, East Africa. This is the first time I heard of Dynamo, but this conversation is very powerful and honest. The saliva swallowing sound says it all. You reminded me of some of my friends who could use this level of honesty. Definitely sharing this to them. I also relate to your story on some level. You also reminded me of a friend who is my 'therapist' for free. I have to thank him. Yes, there are good people out there. You are so calm despite what you have been through. I enjoyed every second of this video. God bless you.

At 19 this man showed more manliness and capability to maintain healthy boundaries than his own father ever had. It's a hard thing to do to stand up to a parent. It took me 42 years. As they say in Shawshank Redemption, sometimes you have to crawl through a river of shit to come out clean on the other side. Your light shines so brightly sir, despite all you have been through and that's the absolute pure magic in this story. I see you. 🙏🌠

As a Scotsman that's battled severe depression through bereavement, I turned to cocaine and alcahol to compensate for my loss...This really resonated with me and I found it to be completely heartbreaking. He's such a humble, well mannered, grounded and talented wee gentleman.. I honestly hope he's on the ascension again (excuse the pun).. What an amazing, person.. I wish him all the love and respect in the world!! 🏴🇬🇧❤️
@sarahcashmore673611 ай бұрын
I agree, bereavement was a real trigger for me as well. I couldn't cope with watching my father die, it was too big for my head to deal with. On my drive to see him everyday after work the anxiety built to a physical pain. The only way to get back to sanity was drinking & drugs. I'm sure that sounds crazy to some people but it made sense to me at the time. I repeated the same day for months, anticipating & waiting for death. It did however give me lots of empathy for strangers as you just never know what someone is going through but yet still going about their 'normal' life

I think diagnosing someone via the Internet is actually quite distasteful. If you put yourself in his shoes, and really listen to the part where he says he's never spoken like this outside of therapy, we see the courage in doing so in the public domain. Imagine basically recounting your whole trauma, I would imagine most of us would struggle, let alone with what he's experienced. Sometimes it's just kind to acknowledge that level of bravery.

This video turned up on my KZbin home page. I watched because around 2013, when I was a teacher, a small boy (aged around 11) , not from one of my teaching groups, came to me in my teaching room at lunchtime and told me in detail how much he admired Dynamo and how important his magic was. I'm guessing that the boy also spent some of his school life avoiding bullies and uncomfortable situations. Dynamo/Steven seems like a decent lad who has had a hard time. Best wishes to him. eta: Magic isn't the only thing he's good at - he communicates his vulnerability really well. And eta again... the therapist! Thank you so much, whoever you are (didn't catch the name) but thank you for helping this man!

Thank you for being brave and sharing your heart and soul with the world. I'm an ex-soldier and suffer from PTSD. Your story brought a tear or 2. Dynamo is just a word. It's your spirit, personality and light and gentleness that shone through and that we all fell in love with. You are still that same spirit and even that can change to bring the story of who you are now. Faith has helped me by allowing me to see that when we live a life of self centric beliefs we suffer. Serving others and faith in something greater than our selves helps to bring peace and love. I hope you find your peace and love again and I look forward to seeing how your newly shaped light inspires the world. Almost like Adele when she bears her heart with each new album created through the pain and love of life. Light up the world Steven with who you are. You have blessed me for sure. ❤

Despite being dealt a challenging hand-facing a father who was absent, enduring severe bullying at school, and coping with Crohn's disease-you transformed your circumstances, turning a seemingly tough situation into a triumph. Your resilience and determination have enabled you to achieve feats that many of us, even if we were twice the person we are, might find impossible. I have been dealt a bad hand too, something we don't choose, was feeling down said my prayer and God led me to a video featuring your story. In that moment, I realized that you are not weak; instead, you have become my hero. Please do not give up, for you are not just an inspiration to me but to countless others around the world. What a fantastic interview, Steven is incredibly humble and candid about his journey so far and the challenges he has had to endure. As a Crohns sufferer, I can relate to his suffering of this horrible and often debilitating disease, it truly can tear your life apart and make you face physical pain and mental lows that your previously never knew existed. He has clearly suffered a lot, both physically and mentally, thankfully he is a fighter and managed to overcome his darkest moment. I wish him nothing but the best, he is an incredibly talented, humble and honest human being and the world is a better place with him with us, I hope he continues to have the loved ones around him continue to support him. Additionally, I applaud Stephen Bartlett for his handling of this interview, his professional, sensitive, empathetic, yet probing approach to explore the areas of Steven’s journey that can help to serve so many others watching this podcast, very very well done!
