Mopa International Airport is an under-construction greenfield airport being built at Mopa in Pernem taluka, North Goa district in the State of Goa, India.
The red soil that settled on the runway and taxiways of the airport, created a problem. The red soil would not come off by normal street cleaning equipment that used brushes and some water. The only way to remove the embedded soil in the runway concrete surface was by using high-pressure water.
KPL-TRUCK 250, Street Washing Unit manufactued in Finland by Dynaset Oy. could complete the cleaning of the runway of 3.5km long and 42m wide in a matter of 7 days. Something that would have taken our customer at least 3-4 months using high-pressure electric jet cleaning machines & deploying a lot of labor.
