Although, VCRs existed, most didn't use them to record TV programs. They actually watched things when they came on. Back then you can have a TV show and 70 million people are watching all at once. Also, screens where far from the face--no tablets or phablets back then--which would've made it difficult to tell it was a double.

This scene was ground breaking at the time . Prior to this scene the soap heroine never stood up to the to the soap opera Villainess .Usually the heroine would go whimpering to her husband or boyfriend. In the 60's,70's and 80's the villainess would slap the heroine and just walk away , while the heroine would be standing there holding her cheek. I've been trying to find the episode where Alexis goes to Mark Jennings room or apartment and Fallon is there. Mark was in the shower when Alexis snuck in wearing a strapless dress and gets in Mark's bed fronting like she's naked and waiting for Mark to come out of the shower. All done with the intention of splitting Mark and Fallon up. I may be going crazy, but I swear this episode happened in the 2nd or 3rd season. I'm trying to find it on KZbin!!
