Upgrade the rated speed to 45, add power steering, breaks and you have me sold. Most roads in my city are 45, so the 25 max would be a problem. Love the idea of a low cost commuter vehicle with function.

If this uses regular car batteries you could probably switch them out with some Calb batteries and get much farther range.

Would be cool if it had some kind of bed extender so you can haul your 8 to 10 foot lumber, rain gutters, plywood etc for home improvements.

How hard would it be to change out the bottom row of batteries?

It looks pretty easy to get at the lower batteries. Everything on the upper part - the defroster, 12V accessory battery, etc., is all on one big frame which comes right out by removing two nuts.

Generally, there's very few work-arounds on N.E.V.s. Unfortunately, the law limits their speed and they are built to match that. For something a little faster, an electric motorcycle or a DIY electric car are great fun AND meet all the legal requirements.
