Man words can't even begin to describe how much I miss those vibes. I make it a ritual of replaying all these old games every few years to relive the moments. Heals my soul

It's still a great game despite it's age. I was only 12 when it came out but it's still just as fun today as it was back then. I just finished playing it an hour ago on an 8 hour binge and man... it's just excellent.

Ah good ol time when hardest difficulty literally nightmare to play in. Need to actually help ur allies and using em to push enemies and help u fight againts bow and horde of enemies, since mobs can deal significant ampunt of dmg if u are sorrounded by many of em. DW3 and 4 at least. DW 5 i forgot if as hard or not since i didnt play XL.

@@invertbrid now days, it's thousands of enemies charging towards us, like lambs to the slaughter. One of my favorite moments in DW3, was when my friend and I were on co-op on hard difficulty, all our forces were wiped out, only two of us remaining, we managed to cut our way through hordes of enemies, to win the stage. all for the 4th weapon hunt. that was such good fun, yet it also made the 4th weapon hunts very satisfying.

Something to note about dw3 that is pretty damn awesome (and dw5 for a specific situation) that I remember from when I played this: If you played the maps with the right characters (like Sun Quan on one of the final maps that involves him), troops and even officers (the ones that are text underneath your character) will follow you and fight enemies. The dw5 one only works as Lu bu, and Diao Chan and her forces follow you only if you do a specific action. I think it was being inside the Lu bu room when the forces push out.

I miss when the battlefield was full of allied soldiers like back in the day in DW3. Now it's you and a small force against the entire map in the newer versions. You could just sit back and relax in DW3 and watch as the whole battle unfolds before you on the entire map. If only they put this out for pc or remastered this

DW3 is really good. It's really rough around the edges and there were mechanical improves in the sequels as well as more and story wise Dynasty Warriors 7 finally delivered on the often omitted run of the Jin dynasty but for everything that hasn't aged well one thing has. The soundtrack. Most of the tunes are just revisions from Dynasty Warriors 2 but are classics, Yellow Storm, March, Sacred Ground. The addition of more native instruments added more flavor to the games but this soundtrack is still timeless.

Probably the best game of my childhood and my all time favorite of the series. The gameplay is so genuine and realistic compared to the newer versions where you can hit enemies 20 feet away. The maps in dw3 and the music are lit and the player progression takes time. The game actually takes more effort than the newer ones as well. Someone once told me something's are better off left as memories but I ignored it this time and started playing the game again, no regrets of course.

Back to the good old days when enemy and allied officers actually had an impact on the stage. Like when Lu Bu is charging around at Hu Lao Gate literally slaughtering all of the other officers on your team. And God, the musou fill was so broken. Also, from what I remember, equipping your guards with pikes or halberds (something of the like) made them most effective.

Yea in this game, especially XL at highest difficulty. Its bit hard to play one vs army as enemies can easily melt ur lifebar lol. Unless u use save load with low HP true musou method. So helping ur allies first can be beneficial in high difficulty.

God, something else I've noticed about this level is how some of the officers in the yellow turban army were just normal sergeants and generals you'd see in the han imperial army. Because you know, it was a peasent uprising but of course they had some experienced fighters that joined their cause. God I wish they would keep that design for yellow turbans in later games

Gosh a remaster version of this game for the new gen would be wonderful. None of the newer titles have as immersive battlefields as the earlier versions of this game. The new ones are great, but I want to feel like there's more going on than just me rampaging the battlefield, here you can see on the map all of the discord and battle going on even when you're not there.

They've already announced Dynasty Warriors 9 in Japan for August this year, but I have a feeling that this may be the last title after its Empires expansion comes out, after that I'm sure we'll see some remastered version of the earlier games, hopefully.

Koei Tecmo should really consider putting in the effort to make some good PC ports. The releases on PC are usually not very well done so a remaster would have to be on consoles which have a very shaky future currently.

This Dynasty warriors in my opinion is the best, it's a little cheesy, but the way you get more hp/musou/attack/defense, finding the weapon crates around the map or specific officers, just felt more rewarding? I've never been a fan how you can use any weapon on any character now.

My favourite building up system of any Dynasty Warriors games, much prefer item and weapon drops. One thing I haven't seen any comment about from the harder difficulties though.............. ARCHER DAMAGE!!!! It was ridiculous me and my mate were terrified of them haha!! Our most epic battle was the battle of Yi Ling on max difficulty we were both one tap from death when we somehow beat Sun Quan it took us so many times before we could beat it. Great memories.

why is there not a dynasty warrior game yet where your own army follows you around? like in the later battles when your general becomes one of the main officers you have a set amount of troops, besides your bodyguards, under your "command" but you can't command them .
