Dynasty Warriors 5:XL - Battle of Han Shui | Zhao Yun

Huang Zhong's cutscene here is ridiculous. He freaking Matrix's an arrow. But I play as Zhao Yun and as Zhao Yun you hold off the enemy, specifically the task force, from reaching the main camp behind you. I managed to do it well enough to get Zhao Yun's 4th weapon by pure accident.

DW5XL seems to have a lot of unique battles that never returned in the later DW games for some reason. Han Shui, Ji Castle, Xin Castle, Mt. Qi, Jia Meng Gate...

I’m so surprised jia meng gate isn’t one it’s such a big part of the story and they always just tie it’s events into the battle of cheng du (Liu bei vs Liu zhang) instead

When I played this stage as Zhao Yun with Hard difficulty, Huang Zhong failed his task despite I killed all Task Leaders to keep allied morale high. It appears to be random whether Huang Zhong can be successful or not when AI controlled him.

the hardest is to perform best since AI just doesn't matter at all but the enemy detection range increased in harder difficulties making Huang Zhong mission is extremely delicate

If you play ask Zhao Yun Just play defense and wait until Zhuge Liang come + cutscene Zhao Yun hardness defense

I think you have to continuously fight until Huang Zhong ambushes them

I remeber when i screwed up defending in the level and cao cao sent his reinforcements to the west gates but luckly for me Huang Zhong's cutscene activated as he was getting ambushed

Battle of Han Shui did happen, but it's almost completely different. Among other things, in the real battle, Zhao Yun did stand on the bridge seemingly alone, but Cao Cao retreats because he sensed a trap, and he was right. The ambush forces him to leave, no mention of Cao Pi in that battle.

Argumenter_Respecter wow really?! That is two time Tsao Tsao managed to avoid a potential ambush from the enemy. First is Zhang Fei (though that was just a bluff if I remember correctly) and this one from Zhao Yun (which actually had an ambush). Now I see why Tsao Tsao was a fearsome enemy
